I was driving my brother-in-law's 2007 V6, and his clutch is definitely shorter and more sporty than my 2005 mustang.  Is this possible or am I just losing it?

my 07 clutch is the worst clutch in a car that i have ever driven..  can't wait to burn it up and replace it.

I didn't personally get to try it because I couldn't drive stick when I was looking for my car, but my mom test drove the cars and one of them was an 07, she said it was a lot lighter, and the throw was a lot less notchy and shorter, so I think they did do something to make it better.  Personally I like the stiff clutch on my 05, but I guess some ppl do prefer the lighter pedals.

Maybe his seat was positioned further up than yours? I haven't heard that one before.

is his newer/older?  different drivers can wear in a clutch very differently.

Yup.  If the older 2005 has more mileage too, that could change the feel of the clutch compared to a newer 2007 with less miles...

My 2005 mustang only has 15000 miles, while his 2007 has about 35000.  I let him drive my car and he instantly noticed it, but he said that mine is definitely feels smoother.  I think I may be the problem; I'm only 5'6" and these manual stangs don't seem to be made for a short fellow like ma self.

+1 to Alemcc on the mustang not being short-driver friendly.  I'm 5' 7"...I have to put the seat pretty far forward on this car do drive it well. (I have a manual tranny)  Adjustable clutch pedal would have been my first choice for an option on this car.

I ~hate~ the clutch on my 08. A little too light for my taste.
