I'm getting the FRPP duals soon (waiting for good weather to install). Check out this thread by Oddysey http://www.mustangforums.com/m_4443572/tm.htm

that x pipe you can buy other places for less.
75 shipped - http://www.rpmoutlet.com/05v6jbahdr.htm#1

x pipe is what ford uses.   there isn't alot of difference between the x and the h as far as our v6s go.  i bought mine from rpmoutlet.  there is alot of debate over that store but if i recall, i bought mine for 299.

price has gone up on the kit and rpm dosn'thave it anymore
http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/iwwida.pvx?;item?item_no=PYP-SFM68%20%20%20%20%20%201&comp=LRS

i liked it cause of no shipping and it comes with the hangars for the drivers side.

it sounds good, it's not too loud but you know it's not stock.

X or H pipe doesn't matter hp wise unless you go f/i. That's been tested and proven. The x pipe gives more hp when you go f/i.

Other than that, it's really just an appeal of sound. X pipe makes your exhaust sound higher pitched(not ricey) and h-pipe gives your exhaust a deeper sound. Check the exhaust sounds page around here somewhere for that and youtube. Good Luck!

PS- I got my gears, t-lok, and tuner from rpmoutlet.com no problems, 3 shipping days to my door.

There are too many negative threads about RPMOutlet, so I wouldn't deal with them no matter how cheap their parts are. I got my parts through V6MustangStuff, but like I said, if I had to do it all over again I would go with the FRPP ones.....much better over all quality.

I've got the magnaflows, with a Y pipe, and it sounds nice, not really loud but still sounds nice. I get compliments all the time. It would sound better with an X or H pipe too.

I have a couple of aluminum cans duct tapes together, sounds ok, but rattles going over bumps.

:)

J/K  FRPP is good quality, if you can dish out the money I would recommend them.  Also on a side note, I took my car in for service and they asked about my exhaust, I told them it was FRPP, and they said "so it is Ford parts, then its fine".  They would have covered the problem had my exhaust caused it was his point.

got the pypes dual streetpros with xpipe set up. It was like 429 shipped from blue oval industries. Gotta love stainless steel for that price. It is a very loud exhaust, I dont mind it, and I get looks wherever I go b/c of it. It can attract a lot of unwanted attention though, I almost got my driving privelages taken away at school because some resident accused me of speeding when I wasnt. (Kid in a loud bright red mustang prejudice)

You must go to high school then?  College is the worst with people (mostly ricers) and their exhausts. I here on average 1 fart can muffler revving or floored every 10sec in my college parking lot. My exhuast is probably the loudest around aside from one or 2 GT's w/loudmouth's(and I'm still not sure if their louder than me) and a couple camaro's/firebird's w/open pipes. If you want loud and deep, get some JBA shorty headers too. They make a lot of difference in sound volume and a bit deeper sound pitch. I'm louder or as loud as gt's with axelbacks/loudmouths anywhere I go. Good Luck!

PS-What city are you from on long island? Wondering if I have ever seen you. Thinking of any colleges yet?

I live in the Huntington area.. As for colleges, Right now I've been accepted for engineering to Purdue, Binghamton, URI, and Loyola, waiting back from Villanova and Vanderbilt (longshots). Where are you going? My brothers at SUNY Maritime now (Orange 04, with 03 Cobra Rims..in case you've seen him)

Whoops, sorry for going way OT

but to conclude that, my brother has magnaflows on his 04, and they sound pretty good, loud on accel, but they almost shut off once you begin to cruise...a lot nicer than the pypes which don't quiet at all.

jay-you should be fine w/the set-up your thinking. I reread your whole post and shorty headers I think could be too loud for you. You can always upgrade to them later if the set-up's not loud enough , Good Luck!

nonstop-I go to nassau community college for now. Transfering to Hofstra(across the street) or some other good business college in a year. From what I see, looks like the stang and you are probably leaving the state. That's ok, there's not many drag strips near hear. Good Luck in college!
