okim pissedi have a 96 3.8 with a cai under drive pulley and stock pipe with glass pack on it so "stock" and its a automatic also i raced a buddy of mines 98 neon 2.0 and got hammered is this right he has a pacesetter headers, high flow cat,fart can, cai, and a mopar performance clutch why is his car beating mine it dont seem right to me

like cobra said, its all about power to weight ratio. the 98 2.0 neon put out, i think, somewhere around 140-150crank hp, i think? right around where you are at...but his car is several hundred pounds lighter. since he has the 5speed, and from personal exp, if you have the 98 ford slushbox, yeah, even though it shoudlnt be by much, hell probably take you. go f/i, youll never lose to him again. youll start having to worry about neon srt-4s. i/4 of the way to my build money, guys!

With 96 he'll need more than F/I to have to worry about srt4's.

Some of the older Neons were quick for what they were so don't feel too bad. lol I would look into getting a split-port swap if your wanting a nice little jump in power. I probably wouldn't go for F/I unless you want a big horsepower car, it is expensive compared to a split-port swap.

F/I=Forced Induction, aka supercharger/turbocharger/Nitrous. Those a some big power adders not little bolt-ons but they are worth the price for the horsepower gains.
