I've decided on getting some replica Mach 1 rims for my Black 2003 GT. but i cant decide on 17's or 18's or what width [9", 10" or 10.5"]. i also dont know what to go with for tire size. right now i have the stock 245/45/17's.
just wanted to kno from other people what i should get based on ride quality and traction. also, some of the rim's i've seen are for the "05-08" models, is there much of a difference or can i mount these on my 03? from what i've heard the offset is different and i cannot?

do you have tpms.on your 2005. this is on 2007 and newer vehicles for sure. you have to buy or transfer the valve stems /bands to your next rim. for it to work right. TPMS monitors the tire pressure and they have added this function to the newer vehicles and its a pain.
It lets the computer talk via a device to each rim via the 4 sensors. make tire and rim  purchase cost even more. The s197 rims have a differnt offset then previous years, you need something like 35 offset for front and 35-60 depending om the rim. If you want to go with different rims make sure they will fit without spacers (unless you dont mind them)
Also ask yourself will you erer upgrade your brakes?
If so go with 18" or larger..   
tires are a personel choice but most of us prefer larger tires than stock on both ends.
Is your vehicle lowered or will you lower it?
To give you an idea mine is lowered 1.75 inches in back and I am running a 19" x 295 X 35 on back and 40 x 255  in front with no rubbing issues or even close, I wish id of gone wider both ends.
Good luck on your decision  and I would buy from a reputable dealer that knows what there doing and knows about tpms for the mustang.

Get some 18s. 10 or 10.5 wide out back would look good. Look for some 8 or 8.5 fronts. Ride quality and traction have a lot to do with which tire you choose. For a better ride quality look for a tire with a bigger sidewall. A 275-295 would fit on a 10 or 10.5 rear, and a 245-255 would fit good on a 8 or 8.5 front. Theres a lot of choices in what you can do for tires.
