Default Powerflash question

I just put 4.10 gears and I need to correct the speedo. Can I use a Diablo tuner with the powerflash chip?

Default RE: Powerflash question

My local mustang shop is dyno tuning my car on Thursday, and he's using a Diablo to save the original tune. I'm not sure what he needs to do to make it work though, I've plugged the Diablo into my car and it doesn't recognize the car out of the box. I'll let you know on Friday.

Saleen was doing the calibrations before for $50 + the cost to FedEx the module back and forth. Down time = 3 days.

Default RE: Powerflash question

i went ahead and went with the Diablo tuner. I was told that i have to have the computer flashed back to stock. I went to the Ford dealer today to have the computer reflashed so I could install the tuner. They told me they didn't want to mess with it and they've had Saleens that wouldn't even start after a reflash. Do these guys not know what they are talking about? Anyone use the Diablo?

I was supposed to get my car tuned using a diablo but the shop had to reschedule, for like the third time. [sm=headbang.gif]

Anyway, I have the predator and what you heard is exactly right, the flash has to be reset to a stock tune. I'm not sure if you have an SC or a N/A but if you have an SC I would very strongly recommend you take it to a professional tuning shop. Tuning the car too lean could cost you a hell of a lot more then the tuner would cost, ie blowing your engine. I know its a pain to do just for the gear change but for an SC car I personally don't think you have much choice. But hey, least you'll get some dyno numbers on your car.

Actually, I should add that the above is true if you want to use the diablo. If not, then Mike's suggestion about sending it in to Saleen is a good one.
