Default 350rwhp on 7.5" rear w/t-lok

Straight forward question, Do you think our 7.7 rear end's w/a t-lok and 4.10's could hold 350rwhp fine? Taking hard launches out of question andon an automatic transmission cartoo. Possibly on Drag Radials too. If not, how long do you think it can hold up before it will snap? 1 run, 2 runs? Anyone runningclose to this power or more on the 7.7" rear? Thanks ahead!

Rygen and buckman both ran the 7.5. They put them through 400rwhp/tq+ with drag radials and everything.

Sweet! Thanks for the help!!! Really good to know! You get a good dyno tune/reading yet or is the car still running a little funky? Good Luck with that too! You were the reason I wanted to go f/i in the first place with your nice set-up and tons of great information! Just another question, did you ever think of looking into a meth/h2o injection kit? Snow performance sells good ones for $450 and the boost juice from them is pretty cheap($30 for 2 full reservoir tanks). And people say it's an easy 15rwhp(conservatively rated,no advanced timing)-60rwhp(advanced timing)gain on any f/i set-up.You can get the low fluid level warning button too for $100 for safety.Just a suggestion to you, because I know you helped me out a lot in my time here and I just amtrying to contribute something back.

Yeah but, is that rear still in their car?
If so, is it built or stock?

Personnaly, when Mr. Vortech shows up, that 7.5 is gone.

I made about 60 passes down the track on the 7.5 rear w/ tlok, 3.73's and drag radials on an automatic car.

I doubt it would have held that long on a manual.

While I was fortunate with those runs, I think an 8.8 upgrade at those power levels is a good upgrade.

My supercharger actually broke, and it has been off the car for the last few weeks. I am getting it back next week, all expenses are being covered by Vortech, and the shop is doing all the labor for free (they are great). When I get it back, I am bumping the PSI, adding a TB, and going for a more aggressive tune. Hopefully I will make some great power. I am not going to say any estimates, but I will be sure to post the dyno when I get it done.

I am pretty anti water-meth injection. I know a few guys who had issues with them, which led them to trashing their engines. My IATs are apparently really low, but the tuner didnt print the numbers on the sheet. I wasnt there when the car was tuned, but I will be next time and will be sure to report the numbers. Just to give you an idea, when I go out for a hard drive, then touch my inlet tube, it is actually cold. According to fazm, with the cooler I have, I should be running just a little bit above ambient air tems.

Sounds Good! [sm=smiley20.gif]I am also wondering, Do vortech's have a break-in period? I hear a lot of people who haveV-2 SQsuperchargers breaking a bearing. But that could be just due to a bad set of superchargers.

I see, I'm still not sure on doing the meth/water injection yet. I hear, that tuners can tune it to be either a cooling agent, or something that adds octane and cools. I think I might play it safe and just use it as a cooling agent if I get it. 20rwhp from that set-up sounds pretty good and worth it to me. Do you think I would be safe just doing that? I don't see how my engine could get hurt if all I do is use it for cooling and it could possibly screw up all I would face is hotter inlet temps right? The same inlet temps w/just the after cooler. Please correct me if I'm wrong or tell me I'm right, because this is what I believe to be the cooling only tuning(no advanced timing).

You got that rear on an 2005, you'll be pushing your luck. I'd switch to the 8.8 rear end. It's a mod every V6 should have, at least for the 05s. Our rear end has been known to snap at 110+

Ok so if I decided to get the 8.8 rear end with the tlok & 4.10's is it worth it, or should you get better gears than the factory 4.10's?

I concur. That particular 7.5 has been through a lot. If you keep the 7.5 and plan some hard launches on it, I would at least do the following.....

-LPW girdle
-Axle brace of some sort

If you plan to keep the 7.5 in the long run, I would go trutrac with the two items above.
