I'm looking to put new tires on my 93 notchback with the original 16 inch pony wheels. I need more traction. Any advice on brand/model would be greatly appreciated.

If you are looking for just a regular street tire, I would go with the Potenza RE910. 245-50-16. These are good looking tires and hook great on the street and track.

nitto nt555R's or BFG g-force drag radials. These provide ultimate traction in dry surfaces and only last a few thousand miles depending on how you drive.

I had goodyears all the way around mine. i like them for street use but at the drag strip it was like taking off on oil.  the drag radials are good for the strip but not for the road everyday, they wear quick.  what do you plan to do with your car mainly?  that what you should look at.

Anything but B.F. Goodrich. Lousy dry traction, no wet traction at all and they hydroplane at about 45mph. Junk.

Get the Nitto's.....if not then a second choice would be the Nitto's.....and if you still need another choice then go with Nitto's.....but if all else fails....I suggest as a last resort to get some Nitto's..........

Good luck..

I decided to go with Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD3 245/50YR16 in the back and 225/55YR16 in the front. They had great reviews and great wet traction. Even with the addition of 3.73 gears the car sticks better than it did with the old tires.
