I wanted a GT to but at the time there was none available. There was one but they wanted to much for it. 7 or 8 over sticker dont think so. Now the only GT I would trade for would be a BULLITT. Because then my brother and I have the same Mustang.

In any case, I got the v6er because it was a good compromise, still was pretty quick, looks good, and it is what I could safely afford - I'm only a medical student right now. If I could switch to a GT for no extra money, well in the end I would probably, but it would kinda hurt since you grow attached to your car and the mods you put in it. But in the real world, I'm pretty please with the thing, I think I'll keep it around and toy with it /  maybe swapping an engine (crate engine), etc etc later on when I get another car.

In a couple of years 2-4 ish, I plan on getting a nice vette, and keep that 6er for some fun.

Edit: just cleaning up Blackmambas thread!  J S197 section mod

Keep on topic guys, like mamba was saying.  Mamba, don't forget about all your mods etc.  a GT is just a base model car with a bigger engine.  I think you would be insane to trade it :)

I'm pretty sure the 07+ v6s have that same beefed up front end and sheet metal. The frame and sheetmetal is the same for v6s and GTs.

Hell No I am not trading my car for a GT I would be friggin retarded if I did that.  Unless I wanted to start all over, but I love my 6 because it is like no other out there.  And many GTs can't take it out either.  Their will always be a faster car.  So like I said before I would trade it in for a Z06 or ZR1 but never just a GT.  And yes for a GT500 I would but there is a big difference between those 2 cars.  My 6 and a GT doesn't compare.

"If only it was an 8," I get that sometimes. My 16 year old cousin asks me everytime he sees the car "Why didn't you get the GT?" as if they cost the same to buy and to insure. Everyone I've met here at college loves the car, and I find whenever I park the thing in the back corner of the lot, I'll come out and find new edges and SN95s parked by me, along with other smaller 2 door coupes like a Colbalt SS. Thats kindof cool in my mind.

Edit: Might I add in the real world nobody cares if its an 8 or a 6, and insecure GT owners don't like this. Throw duals on our cars, and suddenly even most car people can't tell the difference.

They probably know it is a ding free zone because everybody respects each other ride. I try to hunt out those places when I park somewhere. Worth a few extra steps.

Yep I do the same. Park all the way in the back at work and stuff. It wont kill you to walk a few extra steps. And I love it when i come out and there are other mustangs or nice cars parked next to mine. Had a Lamborghini Murcielago park next to me once. Damn was I the happiest kid ever.

I would trade in a heart beat! But thats because I grew up listening to my Dad and his buddies tell Hot-Rod stories about growing up in the 50's and 60's in the Detroit area!!! The nostalgia of a V-8 is just more attractive to me! Plus I felt it was a better platform/foundation for mod's. (I am not dissing V-6's). Actually I did not realize all the V-6 mod options until recently!

The sound of a stock GT is pretty awesome too! Since I have headers, X-Pipe and Axle-Back's it sounds even better!

My car is obviously not stock but my first 2 Mustangs stayed stock. 1999 GT and then a 2005 GT Convertible. Now my 2008 is pretty heavily modded and more to come! So I caught the bug big time. Plus she is a garage queen and a play thing!

I can tell you there aren't many Pony V-6's who can come close to the performance of my car! There are some but they are pretty rare! Even stock GT's don't stand a chance!

Once I get my Whipple HO SC, then I think, hope I will be satisfied!!

when i was looking at the new mustangs about 2 years ago i wanted the gt but the insurance was way too high so i bought the LL green pony pack v6....now i just traded it in for a 2005 mineral grey gt and this is the car i wanted to buy in the first place..minus the colour but i do love the MG aswell....since this gt is a year older than my v6 was its only costing me 10 bucks more a month then the v6...so my advice is take a look at 05 gt to who ever wants to trade and get an insurance quote on the older used gt you all might be surprised....I sure was.

What's the problem with an auto?  If I buy a GT some day, it will be an auto.  I am not a race car driver... I don't want to be shifting a thousand times a day.  Autos are fine.

Hell no!!! I don't really like those C5 vettes.  I do love the C6's though.  Ahhhh I would do anything for one of those, and my insurance was cheap!!!
