I have a 71 mustang with a 351 Cleveland and an Automatic trans. I want to put a 5 speed manual trans in it instead. I have a 86 Ford Pickup with a 302 V8 and a 5 speed manual trans. Can I swap that trans into my mustang? Do they sell adapter kits for that kind of thing? It would save me a ton of money if I could. How hard is this swap if possible? Thanks

not only will the fit be challenging because trucks have bigger transmissions but I would not advise it sense 1st gear on a truck is 4:1 or lower for pulling towing and the like so I do not recommend the swap. Find your self a used T5. I just rebuilt one and it was a cake walk.

Another option is a Tremec TKO though is a little pricier it will take more torque than a T5. If you have a built cleveland and/or plan to drag race the TKO is a better choice.
