damn, i guess i pissed in his wheaties

however, im much more inclined to take the last second freakout over the powerslide theory.  maybe he tried to brake, felt he couldnt make it, so he cranked the wheel to the side to avoid a head-on which is a common reaction of many people.  i know Ive done it even this winter when i go for the brakes and get nothing cuz im on ice.  as I approach something turning the wheel seems like a good option.  especially cuz in that case ur periph is gone.  i say for whatever reason, he didnt know how fast he was going, didnt see the barrier until reaction time was too late, whatever, he swerved to avoid a headon with that ramp.

beleive me, if he had driven his m5 before intelligently at all, your instint isnt to crank the wheel, the car could of EASILY stopped in time if the kid didnt deserve to die for stupidity

that is all

u dont know where the skids are, u dont know how far ahead of the car he could see.

but what u said boils down to
"if he had done something different to begin with, he would have avoided that situation"

by god, u could be a prophet , so full of wisdom u could write fortune cookies

lets say he already was past the point of no return and a wall is approaching him very quickly, i dont find it hard at all to imagine someone cranking the wheel, especially an inexperienced driver.

what he "should" have done has already been discussed in full.  this was a discussion on what we think happened, and im saying in my opinion its much more likely that he cranked the wheel in a panic seeing that wall coming at him, than he decided, after a top speed run to try a power slide.  I personally cant think of anyone who would think a powerslide at those speeds resulting in a complete Uturn would actually work, and that includes alot of young kids.  he had enough speed to launch himself, anyone looking to powerslide in that culdesac would most likely have stopped, and performed a wide donut.  the overall loss of control is, in my opinion, infinitely more logical than an attempt at a 150mph drift

Everybody is talking about this guy being a dumb rich kid but the truth is that this could have happened with a 73 Maverick and a kid with only two wooden nickles to rub together..

The Josh (American5) poster was a complete moron with ZERO maturity, I am actually more concerned and saddened with the other 4 guys he took with him.

wings win! YEEHAW!

3-2 over the coyotes! in your face!!!

oh snap, continue this pity party, please... I'll pretend like I should care and watch people act like their opinion should be my own

and I agree with MK2 that the kid at fault was the poster and not so much the people he took with him... if you can't stop a world class car in a safe distance on a 1.5 mile stretch of straight road I question your need to take up space on this earth

all the reasons everyone has said for the crash leads to one explaination that can hold true in the long run.... the kid was a dumbass... therefore darwinism just took hold and filtered out that mess

it was pitch black, he locked up the brakes and swerved, he powerslid

.... gee I'm sorry he was a dumbass, maybe next time someone will think about these factors like he neglected too... let him be an example

thank you, come again

I think its kind of sad.. reading the original thread where he posted about how he respected the power of his car and he was greatful for the wisdom of the people on the board.. and everyone there telling him to be careful, not end up like some other kids on the news dead... and then like 2 pages later.. oops.. he died....  too bad....

Sad story and a senseless waste of life...although I had to laugh when I saw that they'd pointed out John Travolta's house on the graphic.  I mean, why?  Really!

And another thing...when you look at Google Maps you can see some detail.  Some of us may be lucky enough to have a Mustang sitting in our driveway.  John Travolta has a four-engined jet!

Fix your links to look like this

was just catching up on this story...an ems friend of mine once responded to a suicide where the guy was dead next to his computer... they had to locate a suicide note and ended up using a screen capture...apparently the guy was in some forum looking for girl advice and ended up telling people he couldnt take it anymore...it was interestin cause people in the forum were calling him a fag and ****...i used to have a printout of it...interesting ****....

as for this..well it sux but everybody dies sometime...i go 140 whenever i can...its one of the few times my mind is at peace...racing at 140 i dont have to think about anything else...i figure if i smashup everyone will hear about it...newspapers will love it that my plate said streetracer....
