I'll keep checking back in, and post up with more info when the polls close. As I said this challenge is on alot of forums, I think all the polls close around 02/10. I've talked to MIR, they seem to be winning the polls, and everything is a go for 03/08. Also there my be something going on at Mason Dixon on 03/22.

I wasn't trying to "start" anything man. I just could'nt resist. I'm not saying you can or cannot drive..has nothing to do with it, but I am saying that a 0.00 RT is a red light all over the world, no matter what track you're at. A .50 RT is a perfect RT. You are just jumping a little to quick, that's all. I can't understand what the deal is at your track, maybe the red bulb is burned out or something Let's just let it go Ripped, we have a difference with the whole RT thing, so there's no point in dragging it out. My bad for bringing it up...
First of all its 0.500. And second of all some tracks start the reaction timer with the green light (0.000 being perfect). Others start it with the last yellow in which case 0.500 is a perfect light.
The tracks I currently run all use 0.000. (Although one went from 0.000 to 0.500 and back to 0.000.) Any redlight is listed as a minus number like the -0.002 I cut today.
Also 0.500 only applys to the Full or Sportsmen Tree. A perfect light on a Protree is 0.400.

Take it easy there thunder! I was already informed about some tracks running a 0.000 as a perfect RT and I politely accepted the correction. Secondly, I do run on a full tree and I'm also aware of the 0.400 RT of the Pro Tree. That's why I posted the link instead of going into detail like you are. Thirdly, explain the difference between .5,0.5, 0.50, 0.500, 0.5000, or 1/2 seconds. You know what I was saying with the .50, no need to be a wise ass.
As far the weight of the GTO vs S197, why don't you read the entire conversation I had with Iwhine, before posting smart comments like, "I didn't know Machs weighed as much as GTOs."I posted what I believed the weight of a S-197 to be, and was pretty damn close with my 3450lb estimate. I also clearly stated the GTO weighs 3700lbs. I also stated that these weight measurements were found via google, and I said "Don't hold me to it". The GTO weighs 3700lbs, the S-197 weighs 3400lbs, it's been established, big deal, so what's the point you're trying to make other than letting me know you are fully capable of being a ....?

I will bring my 95 Dodge Caravan to race against the Saturns, Cobalts, Vues, and Pathfinders. I think that I can take the Saturns and Cobalts but the Vues and Pathfinders have me...

Sorry! I thought you were piling on another member about his reaction time. Should just learn to keep my nose to myself.
About the weight issue, I should have just taken a deep breath. Im kind of sensitive on my cars weight... I had a Termi Vert Owner call my car heavy. I also get people telling me the 2007 is heavier due to the across the board bodymods for the GT500's. Actually its 4 lb lighter. For some reason I always get Mach 1 owners who think their cars are way lighter than mine. They make more power and stock for stock they are a little quicker but not much lighter. Yes we are 500 lb heavier than a stripped 1987 Notch. We are also 200 lb heavier than a 2004 GT. We are closer to an F-Body in weight than a GTO.
Now I will shut up and let people get back to making excuses why they cant race the GTO's. I would love to play but the 700 mi one-way drive is just a little much (my excuse!).
wow some of you guys are just stupid. im interested in the track day but i would like to see a date set in stone for mir because its a hike for me. what did you say about mason on the 22nd ?
its just gonna turn out to be a big test and tune event in my eyes.
i think it would be fun to beat a bunch of animals
Why is this being planned for March? March can go either way as far as weather goes. I would think this venture would be more worth while in mid May when the weather isn't roasting yet, but still nice enough to assure you that the weekend you'd be setting aside wouldn't get rained out. Heck, if we were talking mid/late summer i'd hop on board if it were in western MD.
Nothing set in stone yet because the polls are still open.
Yes, it's just a test-n-tune thing but with some fun competition.
I planned it for March because theres alot going on in the summer already, and I didn't know how well this was going to go. If there is interest in this kind of thing I'll try again maybe early fall. Sept. something? If this goes down at MIR this time will go to a different track, keep changing up. Maybe rent a track for a day.
