If you guys decide on Maryland, I maybe feeling froggy that day and take a little road trip to put some wheel hopping GTOs in their place...or get put in my place. Sounds like alot of fun.

For the guys talking about the ls1 GTOs, my A4 ran a best of 13.7 at 105 mph, bone stock of course. I was let down bt the stock performance of the Auto trans. Every mod I did knocked off a tenth or more. Once I had LTs, DRs, CAI, and a dyno tune, I put down 340rwhp/350rwtq and ran 12.85 at 109. I was called a liar on LS1Tech for claiming a 1 second gain with bolt-ons, tires and tune, but it happened. Driver mod may have helped too. I don't think a stock 5spd New Edge and a 6spd Ls1 GTO are a close match at all. Stock 6spd GTOs run the same ETs as stock 5spd Mach 1s. An A4 GTO will edge out a New Edge GT 9 out of 10 times in the 1/8th and all of the time in the 1/4.

I stand corrected.  It's more power than I thought.

Diablosport chip
- 4.6 Liter (2V) Gas Engine: 24 horsepower and 38 ft-lb torque

BBK CAI

This beautiful air induction system is the latest hot new product from BBK so you add approx 12 to 14 Rear Wheel Horsepower Gain.
http://www.rpmoutlet.com/musv8maccai.htm

Borla Exhaust - Can't find anything concrete.  Only answers on forums.  I'm guessing 8-10hp?

BBK H Pipe Fits 1996-2004 2V Mustang Adds 8-10 hp to naturally aspirated BBK CNC Series Off-Road Race H-Pipe

Aluminum flywheel
- Link has info....wrong year but same idea. http://www.americanmuscle.com/fidanza-billet-aluminum-flywheel-2005gt.html

Apparently working has not taught you much if you actually beleive those claims. You just lost a ton of credibilty in my book. Once you have some timeslips I'll give you back some cred. The fact remains that a 2V 4.6 will not respnd to mods like that, the heads just don't flow well enough.

BUT A FOCUS WILL??!!

There is a differance in power/weight. You really, honestly think a CAI, cat back and the other light mods you listed will actually give you a 50+ hp gain? Do you think a K&N filter gives 20 hp? I am not trying to be a jerk, but you should realize you talking to a person who has built race cars for a living and that includes several NMRA cars. I also race in several classes and opporate a dyno a local shop. I say all this not to try and impress you, but only to let you know I have actual real world experiance in this stuff (and the timslips to back up what I say).

Well you do have a background, and I bet you know much more than I do about alot of things.  But that doesn't mean I have zero knowledge about mods and how they benefit a car hp/tq wise.

You say you have actual real world experience......So my time working at Steeda monitoring dyno runs before and after mods to write articles for their magazine isn't considered real world experience?

No a K&N filter will not give you 20hp.  It will give you 2hp for a drop in....if that!  A cai will net around 7-8hp to the wheels on most cars, more on others.  It all depends on what other mods you have in combination.  You can't slap a CAI on and expect the full hp claimed.

I also know something alot of members on here overlook is suspension.  Suspension is a huge part of putting power to the ground.  The stiffer the suspension, the better you'll grip and go.  Alot of these guys that are nothing but followers spout off at the mouth only because they saw others also call me out.  They don't really have any constructive addition to the debate.  They just glorify others opinions with nothing to add.  The seem to discredit the fact that full length subframe connectors, a 3 point strut bar, and bbk springs will do for a launch.  Sure it won't gain .3 but it might gain me .1!  It's all in the driver and his ability to utilize his setup.

Then you have the guys that know nothing of transmissions and completely dismiss the aluminum flywheel and what it's added benefits are.  You'll see these haters posting things like "he thinks he'll gain a half second with his aluminum flywheel".  It's unbelievable how clueless people are.  No I don't think it will give me a half second in the 1/4.  But I do KNOW it will provide less drivetrain loss which gives me more power to the wheels.  That in combination with my other mods magnifys the gains I would normally make from those mods.  (This is where logic comes in for the uninitiated).

In all reality I do believe with the mods and flywheel I gained about 30RWHP.  I don't see how that is so unbelievable.  I've seen cobra's pick up 50+RWHP with just a cat back and diablosport.  30RWHP with more mods on my car is very believable.

Untill you show me dyno and or track proof I do not believe your claims. No other 4.6 owner is going to back up your claims, that should tell you somthing.

my automatic 2004 mustang GT had a few mods

-CAI
-O/R prochamber
-shorty headers
-catback
-75mm TB & plenum
-4.10's
-dyno tune

by your numbers that would mean my mustang dynoed 180-190RWHP stock

I never said my new edge would beat all GTO's.  I never even said it would beat two GTO's.  I just said I would race him and beat his!

I've said it a few times in the last few threads.  I plan on going not to the track not to far in the distant future.  Right now the economy isn't exactly hot, and my construction business I own isn't exactly making money by the boatloads anymore.  Actually it's bringing in ZERO dollars!  So right now I can't afford to get the transmission leak fixed, and I also can't afford to get the short throw shifter to eliminate my 3rd gear grind when driving her hard.  So until some work comes my way, unfortunately for me I don't get to have my fun.  Family expenses come before mods and racing.

I've got 50 slips to prove I've raced with my other cars.  I love drag racing, and am a huge fan of the track, so you better believe first chance I get I'm going to the track!  I can't wait to see what this beast does.

I'm betting first night out I'll get a mid 13 until I get used to her.  Then the lower 13's will come.

i was more generalizing becuase that was the agreement it seemed like some people were trying to make. when facts are ls1 gto's have went bottom 13's stock as in 13.1~13.2 at 105, and i have never heard of a stock new edge coming anywhere near that. Given eqaul drivers the gto will win everytime hands down.

Sad thing to is im not a gto fan boy i actually don't like them or the people who drive them becuase the ones i have met were all pricks

They weigh about the same as a S-197. Looks are subjective.
