I already took out a brand new CTS-V, If you want to come down to Florida I'd be more than willing to beat a GTO!  13.2  pfffffffffffffft!  We have New Edges with the same amount of mods you have that are running similar times with what 1.4 liters less of displacement, yet you have the balls or lack of knowledge to say that mustangs need power adders to be fast?

Did you know a stock S197 just ran 13.27 a few days ago?  That would be a stock 4.6 running almost the same time as your modded 6.0!  HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

As others have said we have some sixxers that would mop the floor with the majority of GTO's!  Isn't that a slap in the face

lol Everyone here agreed that it was a freak occurence that you took out the CTS V and it wasn't brand new it was an 04 unless you were lying to us. The OP would take you if he could even half way drive. I don't think that you will run anywhere near a low 13 with your mods. 'Maybe' a mid-high 13, you have a Convertible with a few bolt-ons, you don't have a super fast car. You post up all of these times and cars that you have beat but you don't have any track times...

Jump all over me now.

First off I never lied.  Looks like your lack of comprehension is the issue.  Here's the link to my thread about racing the CTS-V.  Show me where I said it was a 2004 Sherlock!
http://www.mustangforums.com/m_4198772/mpage_1/key_/tm.htm#4198772

Secondly I haven't gone to a track yet because #1 it's over 2 hours away and I don't have the time to do that now with a newborn, #2 my car grinds sometimes going into 3rd so it needs a short throw shifter, #3 my tires can no longer keep traction in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd.  As I said in my original thread racing the CTS-V my car's traction control went on in all three gears.  So even with racing the CTS-V with traction issues I still beat him 3 out of 3 times.

I think your just being a hater because you can't beat cars that I've been able to beat.

You say I'm able to do maybe a mid 13?  Are you aware that New Edges run anywhere from 13.7-14.2 stock?  So your saying with all of my mods, and the fact I'm very good at driving your telling me I should be running about the same as I should be running stock?  That's not even logical.  You need to get a clue.

If you live anywhere near Florida I'll be more than willing to run you if you think your such a badass!

Does everyone forget that ripped camel had the CTS-V beat for the first two gears, then in third the CTS-V started to close the gap rather quickly which was at about 70 mph as illustrated in that thread?

He 'beat' the Caddy, but it was a short sprint up to 70.  In a quarter mile, as even ripped camel states later on in the thread, the CTS-V would have passed him if they kept going.

V-6 is for real drivers. Go buy a Jetta if you want gas mileage and a chicks car. Buy a V-8 Mustang if you have no driving ability and need the extra horsepower to compensate and feel like you''''''''re fast.

Did I ever say I was a badass? I don't really care whether I can beat a CTS V or your GT. lol It was my bad, I thought you said it was a 2004 but I was wrong. I have a V6 so say what you want to. lol

You like to claim that you can beat anything that runs a high 12 on up. You honestly think that you can beat a 400hp car in your 280hp car? lol You do have the advantage of weight on your side but that is still not going to make a difference. Do you know what the norm is on a stock New Edge GT? I don't normally hear/see of stock New Edge GT's going 13.7, it is more around 14.0-14.3's. You don't have a stock one but your bolt-ons aren't going to give you a half second to a full second off of your quarter times. You think that your car is a lot faster than it is. You might be a good driver, I don't know so I can't say.

Another thread derailed

I owned a 2000 Mustang GT vert.  While it was N/A it had a mid pipe, Magnaflow catback, Predator tune, short throw shifter, UDP's and 3.90 gears.  It was far from fast.  An LS1 GTO would have torn me a new one.

I used to own a N/A 2004 mustang GT and I've ran into alot of 5.7L cars, 1 charger, 2 magnums, 3 GTO's... all of them bit the dust by a car at the very least... the only LS1 GTO I lost to was from a 40 roll and he got me by a car, and he had full LT exhaust and a FAST 90/90 swap

a new edge GT and an LS1 GTO are a drivers race

That is my bad about getting OT. Sorry.

I think it would be pretty sweet to see a GTO vs. Mustang day at the track but that is way to far to drive to watch. If someone wanted to lend me their car to compete in, I would make them proud. lol

keep in mind I had an auto only pushing 245RWHP @ 280lbs tq.... so I'm 100% sure stock for stock they are a drivers race, look up the countless low-mid 14 second runs they put out

You also had a gear (not sure which one, 4.10s?) and you ran a best of 13.89ish?

The LS1 GTOs must pull like hell though in the last 1/8th mile.

Mine was a convertible, which made it heavier and therefore slower than a coupe.  I never raced an LS1 GTO while it was a modded N/A car, but I can't see it running more than a 13.8 or so.  If that's good enough to put away an LS1 GTO then I stand corrected.

I did a little search on dragtimes (everyone's favorite site). The search was used with the model years equaling 2004 and less BTW.

Slowest newer GTO ran a 13.9, and another one with the 4 speed auto ran a 13.8.

I guess I just run into GTO's like this then

True but also as stated in the thread I had traction control on, and the traction control light came on in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd signifying that I lost traction in each of those gears.  Had I not used traction control the outcome would've been much different, and I would've had a bigger lead.

You barely got into third gear, so it was more of a 1-2-shut 'er down race.  Who's to say the CTS-V didn't have the same issue as well?

Just don't be dissapointed if you don't run a low 13 when you do go to the track, that is all.
