I have the optional polished aluminum 18"s on my 2006 GT and need tires.  I think the rim is 8.5" wide but want to make sure before I go with some 255s.  Also, KDW2s or NT555s?  Seems like I can get the Nittos for cheaper with a 255/40/18.

255/45/18  is the best way to go.  gets wider than stock, yet retains the same overall diameter.  That 40 series is going to create more wheel well gap.  yuk
