The rev limiter on the 94-95 V6 mustangs is areound 5500 RPMS. I've done it a couple of times, and the engine starts to shutter and sounds really bad. Although I'm not sure about the exact RPMs, but probably around 5500 or so.

it's not a rev limiter, when your car starts to bucking like that it's because the injectors don't have enough power to keep up with the speed of the pistons. The injectors in a 94-98 v6 are only 14lbs. My car used to start bucking around 3500 in overdrive.

Well then I think you had problems other than injectors. Maybe a Fuel filter or something else but anyway I dont think its a fuel issue as a stock 5.0 comes with 19 Lb/Hr injectors and it hits the limiter just fine. I used to use the stock one for a staging rev limiter

that's what I was told by a ford mechanic. The 94-95 3.8l engines were pieces of crap.

i have a 96 3.8 and it does the same thing at 5500 rpm so is it a rev limiter or just the fuel injectors are not big enough?

Its cause the engones are governored, all computered engines have them, The only way you can change it by adding mods to youre car or release more power with computer upgrade.
