I was wondering if anyone knows if I can take this stick andball ( or if there is a vendor that sells something similar I'd be interested ) from Roush and put it in a Saleen?

The Hurst short throw shifter looks similar and had a black or white ball options as well as many interchangable sticks. I expect you would want the entire shifter but if you were into some fabrication, you might be able to adapt the Hurst stick to the Saleen short shifter adapter.
I installed the Hurst in my '06 and love the look and feel. There are many threads on this - most either love or hate it.
Here is an article on the install (http://www.fordmuscle.com/archives/2006/02/HurstShifter/index.php) and the Hurst page (http://www.hurst-shifters.com/shifter-sticks.asp).

I'm pretty sure the Roush and Hurst balls are the same size.

You just buy the black ball and swap them. He did something tricky with the photography (probably HDR software) to make his lights look like that.

yeah my buddy is a pro photographer, he can do stuff like that in seconds but if you look at the link, i dont think he touched up those photos and the lights look really bright with strong colors
i think ill call and ask if I can just throw the shifter lever and black ball on a saleen
i think the hurst is tight but i think from these photos, the Roush is different and longer or so it seems - ill have to read the above thread first :)
thanks Eric!

Make sure you look at the Hurst shifter stick options to see if they have what you want....taller, shorter, straight, bent...etc

You definitely can't just throw it on there. You'd probably have to take it to a machine shop to make a Hurst (or Roush) stick fit it. Here's a stock shift assembly above a Hurst, so you can see the difference:
