BTW depending on how you look at it people are going to think it's overrated.... an engine making similar power is planted under the hood of my car and the results are night and day. The hemi wouldn't get dumped on except for two things..
1) They put it in the heaviest vehicles they could possibly find....
2) It's hyped up to an annoying level even though it's not doing anything that GM/Ford hadn't already done (really making 350hp with a 5.7L is amazing? That's the magic of 'Hemi' right?)
For what it's worth Chevy passed the 400hp mark with 5.7L before the Hemi even came out. Then all of sudden the farm boy redneck hicks venture into the city and start spouting 'hemi' this and 'hemi that' like it was the best thing every created. So people started listening... then they put their 'hemi' cars on the track and came back with *gasp* 14 second timeslips...even the mustang guys chuckled with thier 2V 4.6L cars... all the hype for that?
Seriously the 'Hemi' group did this to themselves... like it or not that image (overrated/overhyped) isn't going away anytime soon. Even though the SRT guys get a respect it doesn't trickle down hill, the 5.7L guys are stuck with the mess they created.

yes my car is brick ...very heavy 4250 but how is that over rated it makes the power they claim and its in a 4k+ car simple math will tell you the out come.
after i modded mine and go to the track.(heads and cam)
i walk away with a 12sec time slip with a 4 door.

so you are oviously a dick..
if your are refering to the its got a hemi commercial as all the hype. that was the trucks.
who overated it owners??
hell every make and model car out has those few guys that think its the fastest thing on the road.
Car and driver and every other magazine has them rated at what they will do . so i guess i do FAIL .

The Hemi naysayers are entitled to an opinion. I would just say this, it's a nice engine deserving of praise.
When a 4,000+ pound SRT8 station wagon can go toe to toe with a much lighter GTO, it gets my respect. Furthermore, when a garden variety R/T beats a Mustang, as was the case here, I'll tip my hat top to that family sedan.
Now, if some hemi owners expect miracles, and think they are unbeatable - that's their problem, not the hemi's.

Yep. This whole thing is kind of retarded, there's always fan boys that will never listen to reason or facts, they live in their little fairy and leprechaun filled worlds thinking there car is unbeatable. Those are the people who, when you beat them make the win that more enjoyable.
But honestly, who cares about this whole over rated thing, this thread is old.

And not to bash the 300C Hemi, but is the $5k price tag over the charger Hemi worth it for the interior and exterior looks/feel/gadgets?
