I call total BS until your mods say SC 3.8. 130?? How do you know you were going 130? The speedos on those cars only go to 120. The only way you could've beat a 5.0 Mustang is if it was a 79 model and that's a maybe. My 92 Thunderbird Sport with the 5.0 HO wouldn't beat a 95 Mustang GT convertible when it was stock. It did beat a 95 Cougar XR7 with the 4.6 though. 3.8 MN-12s are total dogs - 145hp in a 3800lb car, the V8s are barely adequate for those cars.

why else would he pull to that speed?  he didn't go by me until i slowed back to around 85  SVO's really aren't that fast.  like i said... i can take a 5.0 mustang.

I take offense to that.

I think all of 92lx's stories come straight out of his ass and then he types them out on this forum...

whatever i'll make a video if u don't believe me.... how do i know i was doing 130?  the needle went past 120, locked on the bezel and my rpms kept goin.  hellion... u have a 88 hp mustang... no offense  but the svos arent very fast... my 3.8 isn't either.. but its faster than the 5.0 thunderbird.. i had a mark vii... i know what they do.  i've had 5.0 mustangs, mark vii's, 2.3, and a 351 bronco  so far my 3.8 is my fav (stock)  my all time fav was my 347 stroker.

The only numbers I can find for a stock 3.8 Cougar are in the mid 16's.  A bone stock 84-85 SVO can pull mid 15's bone stock.  So:
1) He wasn't really racing
2) Car wasn't running well
3) Not running much boost
4) He felt sorry for you and let you win
5) You just made it up because you are an attention whore

You can talk about SVO's being slow all you want, but one in good running condition would dust off your Cougar like it was nothing.

i never said the svo was in perfect running order either did i?  my buddy has been building it, and he's in the process of getting it tuned.  I mean, it sounded like it was ok, but he was only running about 9 psi boost.  and he doesn't have 5th gear.  If he can't get it into the 15's before the end of next month, he's scrapping it, and putting a 3.8 into it.

Skar, yes i owned all of those.  my dad gave me the 5.0 mustang, the bronco was a mud truck we built, the lincoln i bought for 700 dollars, put a race motor in it. blew it up and bought a 347 from summit and stuck it in.

My first car was a 91 geo storm GSI with the isuzu impulse turbo setup.  1.6L DOHC about 195 hp? idk. 5 speed.  good running car, redlined at 10,000 rpms, never got that on the road, bought when i was 12 for $300. and it "fell" apart before i was 15

i usually buy generally 3-4 different cars a year, fix them and resell them.
