Well, I called around today to get estimates, and no place near by sells 3M. I was originally going to get 3M since I saw someone say they were one of the top of the line tint brands.
But now I am to look further into other brands and I need your opinion! One of the most convincing places that I called was a place that used computers to cut out the tint specifically for your vehicle. Its a litte pricey, and they use a brand called Llumar, which they claim is better than 3M. According to the rep, they used to do 3M and no longer carry it.
So, before this post gets any longer full of non sense, what is your opinion?
Llumar is definetely one of the top brands, to say the least. Huper Optik is probably the best, but that's ridiculous price-wise. Probably $1000 or more for the good types like ceramic, etc. as far as I know. 3M is probably good too, but I'd rather have Llumar personally, tint is their thing-that's ALL they do and everyone knows them.

When I was shopping around for tint (which will get done this summer) Llumar seemed to be on the tip of everyone's tongue. Shouldn't have any problems with them.
It's cold here (Canada, about 20 F right now) and when you get tint done you're supposed to leave your car in the hot sun as much as possible for the first week-ish so that the tint will stick to the glass better and all the little air bubbles and stuff will go away.
I think getting tinted in cold weather would run a much greater risk of the tint not "curing" and adhering to the glass properly, and that would probably end up looking like sh-t and needing to be redone.

So do you recommend waiting till later? I'm here in Georgia, US and the temp is around 40-60 on a good day...

My plan is to wait until the temperature is at least 70+ to get my tint done, but honestly, check with your local tint place to see if they think it will be an issue or not. Maybe it's just in my head and wouldn't really be a problem; it's just something I figured since the tinters tell you to park your freshly-tinted car in the hot sun for a few days after it's done.

ya the guy that did my tint said the same...its better to do it when the weather is hott...the tint sticks alot better to the glass....when you get the tint your not suppose to close ur window to let the tint stick and let all the airbubbles go away and the heat actually helps...so if its cold u wont be able to open your windows for a longer time....
