05 S197 vs E55AMG

Hey all...my buddy has a mercedez SL(?) 550...4 door with 22's basically stock....I know those cars are pretty quick, but how do you think my stang would hold up...only mods so far, is flowmaster axleback exhaust...what do you guys think? Personally, i think his car will rip me a new one.

Motor trend got a 13.5 out of one. I'd guess drivers race.

one problem with that, he said "4 doors". he's talking about the S550, it's a high 13 second car from the factory.

SL's are 2 door hd top vert. you are probably talking about the S class.

Yeah, i think it might be the S55...its a 4 door...nice car....i might not be able to beat him on the streets, but ill definately beat him getting my pink slip! He pays something like a$1,000 a month for that thing....at 12%+ interest rate!!!!!!!! He was in real estate when the going was good, but now, not so bueno.

He was in real estate. haha. Those cars are fast. Hes got 22s, auto, a good engine, but not much for racing. Just go out and do it. I think you got it if you can launch decent.

If it is an S550 then that is one hell of a nice car you are going to be racing. That is a luxurycar lol. It is pretty much Mercedez version of the LexusLS460 and BMW 7 series.

ur friend must be crazy to race u. who would take his s550 out to race? sure it's fast but it was not built for racing.

An S55 will likely hand you your ass. But I believe an S550 is probably pretty close with a GT. Can you find out what it is for sure?
