Hey everyone,

Does anyone know if a 2004GT head unit w/ the 6-disc changer would interchange into a 97GT?  Both have the Mach 460.

Thanks - Drew

Even if your dash has the same opening, I am 90% certain that the wiring hrns's would be different.  You could buy the hrn's that you need to connect them but the $20-30 spent on the hrns's to install a changer that will jam on you with in a year would make me wonder why you are going to spend the time installing it?  Ford has not made a factory unit that has been worthy of installing in anything more then a trash can since it started!  The indash changers are the worst as we get at LEAST 3-4 people a month on here asking if it is covered under warrenty, I think there was one 2 days ago(do a search and you will see).

So in short I would not waste my time installing junk, but you can....
