H pipe cost less because it does absolutly nothing to effectively aid scavenging properly. I wish i fully understood so i could explain it to everyone but. Honestly go with the x pipe if you have the choice between the two.
You won't notice a sotp feel between the two but you will hear it. So go with whatever your ears decide i guess.

On a V6,
nothing does anything to effectively aid scavenging.
The mid-pipe aiding scavenging (and thus gaining horsepower) is
only an issue when talking about V8's, and
only an issue when talking about using off-road pipes on those V8's. A V6 (with or without cats) or a V8 with cats will not see any scavenging gains at any point.
For a V6, it's all about sound. I haven't personally heard two identical cars with identical dual mufflers and one with an H-pipe, and one with an X-pipe, but the general opinion seems to be that H-pipe = a little bit deeper, and X-pipe = a little bit more raspy. This is completely arguable though.
