Looking at 17X8, 17X10. Will they fit? - 1/24/2008 8:41:28 AM    zmetalmilitia Posts: 567 Joined: 9/10/2007 From: Colorado Status: offline I am looking at 17X8 wheels for the front and 17X10 for the back.  I do not have access to the wheels, as they are on order, being made.  (they haven't started building yet)  I have a 67 fastback, with TCP Upper and Lower control arms.  The issue of backspaing on the front is the upper control arm.  I measured the backspacing of the car, and I have 5" from rotor face to Upper control arm.  So I am assuming I need to go 4.5" of backspacing to clear the UCA with the tire mounted on the rim.  Does this sound right?  I don't want the tire protruding out of the fender, as this will cause problems.  I want the wheels to be under the car.  For the rear, 17X10's should fit with less of a problem, but the backspacing has to be right on there too.  I will measure the rear tonight.  Any input would be helpful.  Does anyone else have any experience with this setup or wheel sizes?  Thanks! _____________________________ 1967 Mustang Fastback-I Get It http://s249.photobucket.com/albums/gg219/zmetalmilitia/ Post #: 1
