Default In a very frustrating dilemma right now...

I am receiving my Saleen Series VI S/C in about two months, so I figure this is the right timeframe to post this dilemma. I know the Saleen blower had a mediocre whine to it, nothing too special though (definitely noticeable). Right now I am running the o/r H-pipe with the Saleen magnaflow mufflers and it is LOUD! I want to be able to hear the whine sooo badly but I also want to keep my awesome exhaust sound. I know that if I keep this setup, I will never hear the blower [&o]. If I switch back to a catted midpipe, I also lose about 6-8rwhp. So I am really stuck right now. I am going to post some options above and PLEASE vote and maybe give some feedback below. I know it is my choice, but I am asking for your opinions. Thanks so much guys, you are awesome!

I would say keep the exhaust setup. I have an O/R H-pipe and I love the way it sounds. But, then again, I have never heard a supercharger whine, so I guess my opinion is a little biased.

If you really want to hear the whine, don't worry about the 6-8hp. You'll never notice it's gone.

I'd say the exhaust notemakes a biggerimpact, though. Although the supercharger whine is pretty cool, I'd rather hear a deep growling exhaust note.

You still might be able to hear the S/C anyway. Remember....the exhaust is in the back, but the supercharger sits right near you.

Just crank up the boost on the SC and you'll be able to hear it whine

I have the Series VI, with an X pipe and the Magnaflow Magnapaks, which is also loud, but I definitely hear plenty of supercharger whine at about 7 psi

Good to know billg. I plan on switching to the 3.4" or the 3.2" pulley once I get enough money for the supporting mods (i.e. fuel system, etc). Hopefully with 10-11 lbs of boost, I will hear plenty of whine.

You can hear me whine everytime I have to park my car and get out! [sm=smiley19.gif]

(does that count?)

How do you guys here that much blower whine. The only time I hear our car is cruising at around 2K. Other than that, I hear the exhaust I say keep the exhaust as of now.

Casey
