without getting flamed....i don't care to hear why camaros suck blahh blahh and how mustangs look so pretty..blahh blahh..

honestly, not just tell me but to new mustang owners, to not invest in piddly s**t mods, for the money you will get pissed.

1. Why modify a mustang? (except for a short throw..for a better feel,  exhaust...for sound...and what do you call it sway bar?(its like 40 bucks for 10x better handling you put across your car)  but everything else for the money spent is not worth it?? think about it 700 for headers purchased and installed...5 hp..

200....underdrive pullies, 5 hp maybe

200....cai- worthless

tb, mass air flow, p&p, new heads, bigger injectors....not worth for the money spent, all minimal gains.. plus you have to get all that at once to feel a difference..get a blower first...than work backwords.

x-pipe w/ no cats.. you need a o2 sensor so your computer doesnt' get all messed up..even so i don't know if thats the best for your car...

and besides that each mod you do you should recalbriate you chip..for example, thats great you buy a mass air flow...advertises 22+ hp..bs...i don't care if more air can be allowed in car, the chip tells the engine how much air to allow in anyway..the techs making your cars aren't idiots..they designed your cars that way for a reason.

for all newbies, or those who think of doing as such, don't spend time or money..your car will never be the fastest out there...if you love how pretty your car looks and need more speed, seriously look at Kenne bells twin screw, i know a lot of mustang owners have centrifurgal, but this is the latest and greatest...for the time and money spent you will have a great set up and you just have to realize if want a faster car it will cost a lot of money..so don't go spend 15-20k on a 2k3 mustang and expect it to kick some tail on the road..

Your car will never be the fastest either.

I picked up a low mile 02 GT for 16k, previously 'lightly' modified and ran 13.8@104. Left a couple tenths off the line..

What the hell is your point about HP advertisements? Do you realize that Mustangs respond VERY well to chips? Do you realize that EVERY manufacturer boasts the HIGHEST HP gains they see on dyno's rather than the 'average'? This goes for F-bodies also.

Point being, nobody gives a flying f*** about what you have to say. Your points have absolutely no validity to them whatsoever.

Headers can be had for 400 bucks, installed in a matter of hours in your driveway, with a complete exhaust setup for another 400 bucks, and gain's of upwards 20+hp.  Also, many people like to buy NEW cars, which F-body's can't be bought NEW anymore! DOH!

If I felt a need to spend a measily 1k on cams,  (which would still total out to be less than a USED LS1)  I will have a 12 sec Mustang for the change in my pocket.

You seem to forget F-bodies came with larger displacement, but also came with a much larger purchase price, less reliability and they rattle, and drive like boats...also they are notorious for falling apart before 80k miles.

I could buy a 5,000 miles GT, install a SC, headers, cat-back, gears and everything needed to power the supercharger and run in the high 11's for cheaper than a 5,000 mile LS1. You want to start talking 10 second passes? That's when the larger displacement rules. Until then, shut up.

Why are you even on this site, your a mustang hater, big deal.  We bought our cars for a reason, and there is no reason not to mod.  Helps you feel better about your car.  Makes it faster, and makes the bond between you and your mustang sronger.   I really don't know why a f**king fag like comes on our website.  We dont bash other cars hardly at all here, the point is to talk about our cars, and to give advice.  Cameros are fine, so are mustang GTs, SS cameros are nice, so are Cobras.  You have no basis for an argument save for the fact that your a F**KING idiot.  The prices are comparable, and I've seen plenty of GTs whoop the s**t out of some piece of Z28.  I like both cars, thus I respect both.  If you dont like mustangs, go tell someone else.

Oh yeah, and your Bulls**t points are mostly the same for all cars!  What a friggen dumbass.  Everyone has to recalibrate at one time or another, everyone pays around the same for the same parts, and everyone ha their share of problems when installing bolt ons.  Your dumb.

Why modify a mustang, why modify any car?  Half your problem is that you had a 97, not to hate on my own kind, but it is generally realized that the 97s were among the slowest and most problematic years.  Classic stangs, Foxies, and New stangs are sweet.  I love my 5.0 and I've driven my buddies 97 w/ his mods and it doesnt compare.  If you would take time to think about your points and cut out the time you spend trying to prove some fascist point, people might want to listen to you.

I'm not trying to sound childish, but you come in here making all these claims that are consistant with most cars, except you exaggerate them to the extent that you blow things way out of proportion.

call your F-Body good all you want...but lets see you 1.  have true duals  2.  keep your car running over 200k with very few problems

PS:  to answer your question...mod to make it faster.  period.

Yep. Take a ride in a 99+ 5 speed GT. It's no slouch.

Just a word of advice...

If you aren't here to get flamed or flame us, then you really shouldn't question "why". It's an insult and it's as if you are questioning our intelligence, you should go talk to the Honda boys because that crap is truly senseless.

I hate threads like this. Just another h8r. There are plenty of Camaro forums out there that you can rant about Mustangs on. So, let's drop this stupid thread and get back to talking about something that matters.
