dont take out that motor. 79 with a 4 turbo are very very hard to find you myfriend have a very nice car on your hands. if anything build up the little 4cyl and up the boost

We're going to keep the engine, but the whole point of the car was to have something fast with a big V8.

I had a 65 289, 66 200, and a 95 vert 5.0.  Now I have my 67 289.

72 Mach 1 V8....351W 2 barrel.......needs restoration....alot of restoration.
Oh and my 02 Ford F150 Lariot V8 Triton.......gets up and goes......really fast!

You are right, it will get better mileage.  Seriously though, that is the only thing I don't like about my SVO is that it doesn't sound like the 5.0's of the day, although those that don't know the classic 5.0 sound generally think it is a quiet V8.

It probably is a pretty rare car, too bad you're gonna tear it apart and stick a run-of-the-mill V8 in it.  But hey, yours not mine right?
