1. ive got about 25000 miles on my 05 with zero problems. the car has been extremely reliable. my car is a 3v not an s/c.
2. dealership does all of my maintenance. only thing that had to be ordered from saleen was the new numbers for my front bumper when it got hit. took a little over a week.
3. good performing 20" tires are expensive

4. 2006 + cars have more hp and some issues were fixed. i would get an 07 w/ 465 hp.
5. if your ford dealer is also a saleen authorized dealer then yes.
6. make sure your insurance company insures your car for an agreed value. most of the time they go by the vin which is a mustang gt.
7. cars handle great. ive had mine on a road course at 140 mph.
8. the car pushes a bit. a new rear sway bar should correct it
9. not sure how many miles i get. i know im getting around 25mpg on the highway. these cars have small tanks so you might beable to get close to 300 miles.
I'd try the search function, as these issues have all been discussed ad nauseum on this very board..... Get to reading then get one asap. Welcome to the Saleen section!
Hey Zooropa, where are you located in New England. I am in Southern NH and there is a dealer I think Herb Chambers Ford in MA this is about an hour or so away from me.
Good luck with what ever you do, you will love the car.

Previous 88 GT (sold) 89#709 Saleen Coupe (sold) But not forgotten
I live in Burlington Vermont and I am familiar with Herb, they only have a 2008 in, if you are interested I'd love to hear about your experience.
I have owned cars that are expensive to fix, by that I mean thousands, and perform very poorly, spend a lot of time at the dealer and the whole experience is something I would like to avoid again hence my hesitation
does the 3v versus the super charger require less attention mechanically?
i'd really like to talk to someone about Saleens if anyone can spare a few minutes on the phone for some direct questions ....
also,do they burn oil a lot? how are the tires in the rain? does anyone have a video or good pics of the glass top??
i think i might have to drive to RI or NJ to actually see one sit in one or drive one i guess
what dont you like about it? I mean on every car I've ever owned there are certain things that just were poor design features, how about the Saleen?
Hi, welcome are you originally from Burlington? I currently live in Manchester, NH, but raised right across the Lake from you in Mooers Fork, NY.
Picked my 05 up last April, best thing I ever did.
Saleen is great and I have all my Warrenty work right down the road from me at a Ford dealer who isn't certifide, but Saleen works with them. You should check out your Ford Dealership up there to see if they will support you if you need service.
Regards,

The 3V will obviously have less maintenance than the s/c, but not much less at that. The S/C is a way better car IMO for obvious reasons...go with the S/C version and welcome to the forums!
All gears will redline at the same rpm. I set my redline to 6800 due to the fact that the fuel injectors cut out 300rpm prior to redline. I often take my car to 6400-6500 but nothing over that.

These cars are ~95% Ford, so from a reliability standpoint you shouldn't have any issues. Weather you go 3v or SC they will be as reliable as you treat it. Maintain it and drive it smart and it should last a lifetime.

See above....again based on your maintenance & driving practices.

Email me at sowaxman@insightbb.com with any specific questions and perhaps we can share numbers then.

No car should burn oil unless there is something wrong with it - so no. I can't speak regarding rain, but I would guess the Pzero's are not a good rain tire

No compliants from me on this one, other than a few Ford related issues. Like why did they wait until 2007 to put a 1/8" audio jack in the console for MP3/Ipod connection
is there any room in the back seat for legs?
Absolutely not, unless you plan to have yourself and front seat passengers sitting with their seats in the foward position IMO the backseat is there for insurance purposes only But if you are a fairly short (and I mean NOTHING by that people!!!) person and can manage to drive with the seat forward, then I suppose kids could sit in the back - but regardless I would not imagine the rear seat being comfy for adults.
I see some questions haven't been answered, so see above
