I really like the rare colors. I wouldn't change mine, afterall how many violet Saleens do you see around (19 ever made in that color). However, I'm constantly watching out for a Lizstick car (my personal favorite). Atlantic Blue is awesom, Beriliam (yea, I probably spelled that wrong!), Tangerine, Grabber Orange, and gotta love the Chrome Yellow w/ Yellow rims (SA-15 = Killer). Red, White, Black are OK, but I like the colors that "pop" at the shows...

In order to get the car my wife had to pick the color. Decent trade off in my books. I wanted black and she wanted silver. I was not too happy at the start but now with the black rims, tint, front splitter I think it looks great. The silver always looks clean thats for sure.
If I had to do it again, I'd be tempted to not go for the Lizstick Red and spend the money on an Extreme upgrade.
Don't get me wrong: the candy apple paint is stunning, and doubtless a factor in many of my car show wins. But the non-touchupability of the paint terrifies me more and more...
I'm curious who told you you can't touch up Lizstick, I've had a couple of spots touched up and you can't even tell that they were.
That's good to know; did you have Saleen do it?
Seems every time I read something about a custom-painted Saleen, they mention this.

the cherry red wasnt my first color (not sure on the offical color spec name)
If its bright red with no metallic, its Torch Red. If its the darker metallic shade, its Redfire. Or if you paid $17k extra for paint then I would guess it to be Liztick Red. Now you can say it like a proud owner

No didn't have Saleen do it, they just supplied the paint, there is a shop in northern CA, that I use that does all the paint/body work on my cars, their usual clientele is high end European cars. I had them try to to do a paintless dent removal on a dent on the left rear quarter panel, they were able to remove the dent, but a small crack could be seen on the base coat. So they sanded it, painted it, blended it and buffed it and now you can't tell at all, that it was touched up

If you dont mind me asking, how much did they charge you to do that?
If I recall correctly it was about 3 hours worth of their labor at the time that was $95 and hour.

If I had a choice, I'd change the black to orange (or maybe purple like sal's car!). I was looking for a hugger orange Terminator when I found my car. I've seen 1 or 2 orange saleens floating around for sale online, but both were N/A.
Satin Silver always looks clean on a daily driver, so it's my favorite for now... but if I had a "garage queen" with someone ready to detail her every time I took her out, I'd want black or berylium or Lizstick... or, in an alternate universe where my husband would let me and resale values didn't matter at all, I'd paint it hot pink (more pink than Molly's). I let him drive it occasionally and therefore, hot pink's not going to happen
