ok, its not really my first race, but its my first race in my stang (im a proud new owner)... Anyways mines an 86 GT 5.0 AOD, opponent (friend of mine) just got a 97 4.6 Thunderbird LX AODE.... well we decide for s**ts and giggles to take a run at each other... he has his in 1st gear and i've got mine in overdrive ( dont have a clue why at this point) ... he tells me to call... "1...2...3 vrrrrrrrrrooooooooommmm" there goes the two mighty fords..... i was proud, cause it was my first kill in my stang... not a big race , but my first in the stang... anyways he said that I beat by about a 1 1/2 car lengths.  So I was pretty stocked tonight :)

If your auto isn't slipping, you'll go the fastest by keeping it in overdrive. It's a well known fact, yet it's still a huge myth. If your tranny is slipping, or it shifts early at WOT, then you should drop her in first and shift that bitch yourself!
