Ok, I have been part of the volvo world, and more recently, the BMW world, then I sold them and got the mustang. I have never met a group of drivers that are so negative. When I had my BMW, I would drive next to ANY BMW, 1980 so and so or a 2005 M5, it didnt matter, we both had respect and understood that BMWs were awesome. I feel like with the mustang world, the majority is white trash redneck people that only want to put down your car. I cant tell you how many times Ive been driving around town, and I pull up to any mustang, and people act like theirs is so much better....even if it is, we both have mustangs and it should be a common respect for the drivers....I just dont get it.
Anyone else, or should I just sell it and go get another Bimmer?

that hasnt happened to me YET... ive been driving next to GT's and cobras and they joked around with me but gave my the thumbs up afterwords... a GT pulled up to me and we started talking. cars looked exactly the same hahaha.. same wing and color, etc. so far i've had good experiences.. maybe they are just jealous of ur rims
I've never had a problem... I normally get a wave or a rev from mustang owners....
I got a mean look from a guy in a 98 GT followed buy his engine getting louder so I let him listen to the beautiful v6 exhaust sound and he gave me a wtf thumbs up....
I mean, I hear "nice car, wanna sell it to me" and stuff like that, but its rare to hear it from another mustang driver. I get compliments all the time, and sometimes I will run into a nice mustang owner, but most of the time its some dickhead with a bad look.
ive never had any problems with that. ive been next to a 04 cobra at a light before and he complimented my car and of course i told him his was bad a$$. when the light turned green, he took off and probably made it to 80 or so then slowed back down. i didnt even try. lol. other than that ive only talked to a couple of people in mustangs and they were all pretty cool.

Maybe you just run into alot of gangsters... and their mad because your car colors and brake calipers are 'set trippin'
I have received more compliments on my car (in the real world, not internet) than i can count. Some were mustang owners, some weren't. One guy even asked how much i would sell my car for. Who cares about everyone else though, as long as your enjoying the car, thats all that matters.

great, i suck! Now, I guess its time for a supercharger or something to get some positive attention....maybe a cam too for the blub blub blub blub effect.
I've never got any bad looks or anything like that but I've also never got so much as a wave since I've owned a Mustang. It's been kind of a shock b/c before I used to drive a slammed mini truck and anytime I came by another lowered truck or even just a stock one people would wave. Some would come over and talk to me and just say nice truck and stuff. I feel like with Mustang owners there's too much of a "mine is faster than yours" competition thing going on. People think they have to act all tough or something I guess.

Most people, even stang owners never realize mine is a 6 until I tell them. At idle or when I'm slow rolling, it does sound similar to the v8 rumble, but that's the only time lol. Stockish GT's won't ever race me, only heavily modified ones with kids driving ever try to run me. I was pulling in to Best Buy the other day, and this guy, in the blistering cold rolled down his window to give me the "2-finger wave." He was ina GT with 18" bullitts on it. I smiled and waved back, too cokd to rokk down the window, but it made me feel good to know that there definately is the community out there.
There's millions of stangs out there, but not nearly as many enthusiast, so it's tough to find those that appreciate the idea that is "Mustang." I live in a college/oil city, and there are tons and tons of stangs, I can literally sit and a red light and 3-4 out of 10 cars are stangs, although 95% of the time they are stock 6ers.
the only time i give someone flak for driving a mustang is when they drive a 94-98.. i absolutely hate how those cars are rounded.... other than that i comment everyone on there cars... even if it looks like a piece... my buddy has a 99 Stang.. same year as mine just a GT... he went on for about 20 minutes just tellin me how good my paint job was on my car... its just the stock electric green from factory... but at the end of it he just had to put in the "but it is a v6"
I've never experienced anything like that other than at a car show I told someone with a classic mach 1 that I liked his car and what not and he completly ignored me. Other than that its all been positive. When we first got a mustang people would always wave at us, in a mustang or not. I think you may just have bad luck or something lol. It is hard to always find the actual enthusiasts though.

I always ignore Mustang drivers. When they smile and wave, I just give em the bird follwed by a menacing look. And if they say hey nice car, Im like hey Fuk you.
I dont think Ive ever had anyone say "nice car" or anything like that. But I have had several cars, imports, and domestics try and race me. Most of the time I dont bite, but to me its a compliment that they want to race my car...but thats just me.

Got you beat even I had a mach 1 guy back down from me at the light the other day. Guy hit the light rolls down the window "why is it whistling?" I go it my ... *cough* power steering pump. And he goes "surrree nice ride man". Good thing he would have probably eaten me up but oh well. I get waves from stang guys, vette guys, etc. The honda guy with primer body mods don't wave though they give me this *uggh* look.

Our local track allows "Grudge Races" and i was talkin sh!t to a Dodge owner, about 5'2", couldn't tell if it was a dude or a dyke. "It" heard the whistle from my intake and refused to believe I didn't a supercharger lol. I argued for about 10 minutes with about 10 other people that knew I didn't have it helping me and "it" still wouldn't believe and didn't want me to pop my hood lol.
