i just say in a old 5.0 mag that it had it plugged off on the intake, i couldn't see the valve cover but the plug on the intake is the same plug they used on my valve cover.  they also didn't run a boost gauge.  if you guys would like i could try to take a pic of it.  let me mention that this was a procharger kit

Well now everyone is going AN fittings and braided stainless lines.  That will make my brass fittings and rubber hose look like poo.  Looks like I have to go more bling now and step it up.

This is how both of my Procharger setups were done as well.

Yes, the ProCharger set-up blocks off the drivers side, and uses the passenger side to vent.  The catch can would have to be mounted next to the battery on the firewall, or on the strut tower "thingy" hanging off of it.  I will be doing this myself and take pics when its done.

In this pic, you can see the hose come off the pass side and go to the back of the engine.  It goes into the intake tube on the bottom side after the filter.

LOL - don't tempt me...[:D]

Sorry OT - but lately I have been doing a lot of cam research and found out some cool things. Comp has some much better cams for us than their advertised 'stages'. I also found out comp can change the lobe seperation angle (lsa) up to 1 and a half degree on any cam set-up with a one week turnaround. This is pretty sweet cause it's where I think the available S197 cams are lacking the most for the 3V. (along with the lifts). Pretty cool crap becoming available...[;)]

Gonzo71 -> RE: Oil Separator - Attn: MODADDICT (1/22/2008 10:10:26 PM)

I ordered the 5122 can directly from Stef's with the -10 inlet/outlet (5 mins on the phone); they said that it would ship in 5-7 days as they did not have one already made up.  I ordered hose and fittings from Jegs.  Fittings are Earl's Ano-Tuff (black) and Pro-lite 350 hose (also black), only problem now is that nobody makes hose clamp covers in black [:@].  Jegs had them listed on their site, but when I called, they could not find them in the Earl's catalog.  The guy at Jegs kept looking for over 45 mins, but couldn't find anything.  Any of you guys know where I might find black hose clamp covers?  Mr. Gasket sells them, but the smallest size is 7/8".  Worst case, I guess that I can get another color bead blasted and powder coated.  All this for something that I would probably never notice if I didn't already know about it!

Did you install this yet?

If so is this your revised list from CK's since you custom ordered the kit with a -10an in and out?

Thinking I am going to order next week and wanted to make sure I had everything I needed.  Looks complete to me but I wanted to verify it.

Thanks

hammeron -> RE: Oil Separator - Attn: MODADDICT (1/31/2008 5:24:42 PM)

i havn't installed it yet, i'm still waiting for the
stef's can.

yeah, this is a revised list because originally there
was a reducer on the list, but it is not needed if you
go -10 all the way from the start...

i've been seriously considering a battery relocation
kit, because that would free up a perfect spot for the
intercooler reservoir. the stef can could then be mounted
cleanly, where the reservoir is now.....

the only other item of note is, for whipple guys, you
may need 2 sections of 3' hose.....

MustangGT0405 -> RE: Oil Separator - Attn: MODADDICT (2/1/2008 6:35:26 AM)

Thanks Hammeron,

That is what I thought but I saw in your pics that you had some extra hardware.  I guess I will wait till my install is done and see how much hose I need for where I want to install it.

I just got an unexpected LARGE BILL ($$$$$$$$) so I am pretty bummed.  No extra parts or dyno tune for a while.  Oh well at least I have the blower.  All I get now are consumables, 255/50/17 tires, and a clutch.

Oh well, such is life.

MexGT -> RE: Oil Separator - Attn: MODADDICT (2/1/2008 8:59:05 AM)

wouldnt it be just better tu plug a line and point it directly to the pavement? lol

would it work ? I mean only dirty oil comes out ?

You mean leave it open at all times to drain out? I'm not sure I like that idea. I'd imagine that it would create a vacuum leak issue, not to mention that the aerodynamics of our cars cause every bit of moisture that gets under the car to end up on the back of the car (oil all over your rear bumper and trunk lid). Also I like the idea of being able to see just how much oil the catch can is consuming between oil changes.

Why would you want to spill waste oil onto the pavement?

Would you pour your used motor oil down the storm drains too? [:-]
