I'm either going to mount it on the heat shield for the CAI or on the driver's side shock tower.

I am planning on the driver side shock tower too.  I think I am going to make a bracket and mount it off that tab that is already there.

It seems like alot of people are doing these so everyone take pics so I can see what I like [:D].

I don't think there will be room.  I wish I had my car so I could take a pic, but I mounted mine to one of the whipple screws that holds the heat shield to the MAF housing.  I used the $7 bracket from moroso, but will probably try to make a custom bracket out of some flat 1 inch aluminu stock.  I figure I can cut to length, drill a hole in each end, heat it up to bend it around the can and just screw it down to tighten around the can.

You can see how one of the tabs isn't screwed to anything, the other is atached to the MAF tube.  I think this is the best place for the whipple.  Have a shop polish the stefs up really nice because everyone will notice it in this location.[:D]

Nice job! That is a great location for the whipple. In my case, my huge icebox takes all the room so I mounted mine to the center top of the fan cover. You can see it in some of the pics in my car page in the link in my sig.[sm=icon_cheers.gif]

I considered that location and even thought about making a custom mount to attach to the metal lip that stick up, but this was easier.[:D]  I just don't like that universal bracket.

Yeah - that's what I did as you can see and it's not the 'prettiest' location but with my monster icebox, I didn't have much choice. Yours looks very clean there - again - good job.

I plan on waiting till I get the blower installed and then finding the best home for it.  Yours does look good.  If I run it out in the open like that I might have to think of getting the braided stainless lines for more bling [:D]

So I went out and bought a craftman oil seperator and some hose from NAPA and clamps.  Connected it all and wow.  After only driving less then 30 miles I have about a teaspoon of oil in it.  Time to buy whats on page1.  The oil seperator was $25, the tube was $1.00 a foot and clamps were cheap.

$1.00 a foot?  You didn't get heater hose did you?  You need something that can resist fuel/oil and won't colapse under vacuum.  Make sure the hose doesn't colapse, you should be able to tell at idle.

After I installed everything I did notice the collapse at mostly the bends  I added 4 clamps around the tube at the bend this took out all the flatness of the tube.  I watched the car rev and idle and there aren't any more bends or flatness in the tube. This was just a cheap simple solution to see how it worked.  This was the red double insulated heater hose.

I've seen a picture of someone using two of those cheap compressor-style filters in series with the blower on their car. I still think you're better off paying the extra money for the bigger aluminum can.

This is the best looking set-up that I have seen so far.  Having the Whipple HO installed the first week of Feb, so trying to get everything on the list ordered ASAP.  Is contacting Stef's directly the fastest way to get the oil separator?  Also, any chance that someone with a Whipple HO could measure the PCV hose on the passenger's side for me, so that I can order the appropriate length matching hose.  I've decided to go with Black Ano-Tuff fittings and black Pro-Lite 350 nylon braided hose.

i didn't measure it, but i estimate it
at around 30 inches. i would get a
3 foot length to be safe.

Do you want to know the length of my hoses?  I didn't measure them and the car is in the shop, but I could measure what's left from the 10 feet worth of hose I used.

Moosestang, did you replace the passengers side hose also?  I am thinking that I just need the additional length + 2 more clamps.  3' was the original recommendation, but I'm pretty sure that is just for what is needed on the drivers side.

Ok....  First off, let me say that I'm not doubting anyone on here, you guys are all very bright and knowledgeable.

But, when I was having my Saleen installed at Brenspeed, I asked both Brent and Dave about an oil separator in the PCV return line, and they said that at my boost level, they haven't yet seen the need.  They said they've had several blowers apart after thousands and thousands of miles, and there was no oil on the intercooler fins.

Now, part of me wants to believe you guys, and say that they were just telling me that to put my mind at ease because they didn't have anything they could sell me, or even fab up, to serve that purpose.

The other part of me wants to believe them, and think that perhaps you guys are either running much more boost than I am, or that perhaps you are going overboard and doing something that, while not detrimental in any way, shape or form, just might not be necessary for another few psi.  Kind of like putting traction bars on a Pinto BEFORE the engine swap, ya know?  [:D]

I understand the logic behind all of it, I just don't have a good enough handle on fluid dynamics and all that real hardcore scientific stuff to be able to form my own solid, fact-based opinion, so I'm relying on you guys to point me in the right direction here...

I have a hard time believing brent on this one.  Just look at my cmcv plates with no supercharger.  I'm not so much worried about oil on the intercooler or blower screws, rather i'm worried about to much oil getting into the combustion chamber and lowering the octane of the fuel.

There's a simple way to check.  Pull your hose off running from the pcv valve to the intake manifold.  I bet oil runs out of it.

You don't need to change the passenger side hose.  It's purpose is to route air from the intake into the crank case.  The drivers side hose sucks it back out along with some oil.  For the stefs can mounted in the same place as mine you'll need about 4 feet of hose.  You have to run a short 12 inch piece from the pcv to the side of the can and a longer 3 foot piece from the bottom of the can to the whipple intake nipple.  These are rough estimates erroring on the safe side.[:D]
