I took my original PCV hose off and very carefully removed both ends and reused them with the braided hose. They push into the braided line with some oil as a lube and I just hose clamped it. Worked good too. I have the morroso unit by the way.

I just ordered the Moroso unit form Summit,  I looked at my set-up and I have a plastic pcv valve in the line that goes to the intake manifold.  I thought the pcv valve was in the valve cover.  Do I leave this in place when I install the Moroso unit ? I looked at the pictures on here of the different set-ups but did not see any pcv valve in line like mine.

I've been planning to move the battery to the trunk anyway, so not too much added work involved.  Guy at the hardware store suggested putting an angled extension on the drain, or attaching a small section of hose.  I was planning to have a new engine installed in October, so when they pull the intercooler it will be interesting to see how much oil made it past the PCV w/o the can for the first 2000 miles.

Well, I got it all sorted out.  -8 to -10 male-to-male did it.  Installed this weekend.

By the way for any noobs (like me) who did not know how to put the hoses together, check this out:
http://www.anplumbing.com/SWIVEL_SEAL_HOSE_ENDS.html
I was LOST without this.

I ended up mounting the can to the CAI heat shield.

Here is a pic of the install:

I was doubtful about doing this mod, I'm getting an HP Performance kit (have half kit already waiting on the pipes)

But after seeing this photo, I think is a must!

what was it about that photo, that made you
decide to install an air/oil separator?

let us know how it looks when you get it in

That is the website photo of the HP kit, the one I got but had not install yet.

The PCV valve now runs into the turbo inlet, and is always sucking, normal vaccum at idle, huge vacuum at boost, after that, the oil would run thru the turbo, intercooler, maf and so on.

oh i see.

it's hard to tell from that pic, if the drivers side
pcv line goes to the air intake (just after the air filter).

if it does, then that is unmetered air and you could
probably get away with a breather filter on the
passenger side

i could be wrong, i'm just thinking about how
it might work, based on the photo above

Thats right, is unmetered air so a breather will do, the thing with the breathers is the all the oil it pours to the engine bay.

I'll try to find info on the passenger side to see if something has to be done.

Thanks again.

i think i've seen people run a seperator
with a breather filter, so it keeps the
engine bay cleaner

it's interesting stuff, so let us know what
you decide to do

i ordered this im guessing it will work??

I just ordered this setup, it will work correctly im hoping??

Morso air/oil separator
MOR-63401 3" can bracket 6.95
SPE-3260 5/8" clamps (qty-2) 13.90
EAR-403010ERL 3ft -10 Perform-O-Flex hose 32.39
EAR-9892120ERL Female -12 to Male -10 reducer (qty-2) 33.50
EAR-812010ERL -10 120* swivel-seal hose end 25.95
EAR-800110ERL -10 straight swivel-seal hose end 10.95

Just making sure i wont have a problem before it gets here!

Well I just ordered teh above from summit.  Took me long enough I know but I have been so busy it isnt even funny.  I am still going to try and rig a mount to have it come off the shock tower.  We will see, worse case I will go with the filter shroud.

How much oil have you guys been catching?

I had 0 residue on my TB when I took it apart and almost none in my intake after the S/C install.  I wonder if it affects some motors more than others.  Better safe than sorry though.

This is after3-4,000 miles and 2 dyno pulls. That's a 15oz. "I can't believe it's not butter" bowl.  The center is raised a few millimeters.

Big ups for those who put together the parts list on the first page.  I just ordered a Moroso unit and all the trimmings from Summit.  That list, and everything else in this thread, made finding everything easy.  Figure I might as well go ahead and install the separator at the same time as the blower, when the time comes.

I plan to document the whole process thoroughly, and then do a write-up here on the site of my S/C install.  Just waiting for the next month to pass for now...
