I was just looking @ a 08' GT500 white vert. Sticker was $46K & dealer was adding $10k & final price was $64K w/ options added. I think i could get it w/o the added $10K.

There should be a law against marking up vehicle prices over MSRP. Dealers are a bunch of greedy bastards! I thought about trading in my 2007 GT/CS for a GT500 until I saw how much dealers were asking for one. Yikes! I would've been ok with the 41-42k MSRP. Lowest price I've seen for a GT500 was 49k and highest was 69k.

Isn't that just standard marketing crapola? Most the GT's here in Oregon still have dealer markup, but you can still buy them well under MSRP if you're not a fool.
30,000.00 mark up at the dealers in southern maryland, he owns 6 dealers in the area.
Is that Waldorf Ford? I laughed at them when I saw their 2 '08 GT500s marked up $30K over. I asked the sales manager what he's been getting, and he said he got $72K for a red with white stripe '08 about a month ago. Given that they've moved quite a few since late-'06, I can only believe 1 of 2 things: either the sales manager is lying about what he's really getting (definitely possible) or there are idiots not willing to look around the country to find a better deal. If you can pay MSRP, even if it costs $3K to have it shipped in a covered trailer, it's STILL a huge savings from what the metro DC dealers are looking for!
BTW, Waldorf Ford is still trying to charge a $5K markup on their 2007 Shelby GTs that aren't sold. Oops!

Well, if anyone needs a GT500 (which I'd imagine you guys don't...) then call me. I'll picture some prices off the GT500s and tell you what you can get them for. Vista Ford in the LA area has virtually no markup - even on 08's.

I don't care how much money I get in this life, I have vowed never to pay a buyer's premium for any car. I wanted to get a Challenger when they come out next year, but they are going to list at $40K and probably have a premium on top of that!
