OK i got two friends one has a 2007 GT. The other just traded his 95 GT for an 03 Mach 1. They raced from a 20 roll. The mach instantly put about a car on the GT and kept pullin. By the end of the race 90ish??? the mach had about 2-3 cars on the GT. It was still pullin away when the GT let out of it.Does this sound right. Should have the mach have pulled it this much.
Almost forgot. Mods on the 07 are a WMS intake w/box and flowmaster axleback. The MAch (as far as we know) just has borla catback. Don't think the mach has gears. And the 07 has 3.55's.
Well in that case it don't sound exactly right. Maybe driver error on the 07's part? Does the 07 have a tune too? That will make a difference. Should have been about even with those mods I would think.
Both cars are manual. No driver error. I was in the mach during the race and could hear him hittin all his gears. Nad they have raced a few times since then. The 07 is not tuned. Just the intake and exhaust.
I dunno... I can see it happening... That Mach would be in the low low 13s with 105~106mph traps with a catback (for some a high 12 would be possible with just a catback) and the 07 would be mid to low 13s at maybe 103~104mph (havn't seen them really gain much without the tune)..given the Mach is lighter it probably just got a better hit from a roll and the momentum carried it.
Since they don't start out even I really can't say the two cars with these mods would be even....the number of lengths was probably just due to the Machs ability to get momentum and an initial gap in 'response'/who was on the gas first....
Of course not all cars are equal either (ive heard of manual S197s trapping 101~102mph) so I am giving the S197 some credit here and saying its a strong runner.
