Default 3.8 to 5.0

im sure its been ask but i just got a 96 stang with a 3.8 5 speed it has the gt rear end in when i got it

im wanting to swap the 3,8 for a 5.0 what all will i need im not going to go fuel injection im going to run a holley carb

people was saying i have to swap k frames and all i just need to know what i need to get the motor in the car

OK, use the search button at the top for more info, but I can tell you that the 96-98 stangs were specifically developed for the new 4.6L, so you're deffinitly going to have to get 5.0 engine mounts, not too sure about the K members. To put it simply, you're going to need a lot of stuff, and I mean a lot.

87-95 5.0L engine
Carb conversion kit
Some type of 5.0 ECU A9L model number is one of the better ones to get 94-95 is a very advanced ecu, but too picky to work with at times.
94-95 cooling sytem (radiator and cooling lines)
8.8" rear end
94-95 suspension package (shocks/struts/caster cambers) might as well lower the car while you're at it.
94-95 speedo and recalibration
About 10 thousand smaller things as well

Just do a split port swap with you 96 and you'll make almost as much power as a 5.0

what do i need a computer for if its a carb motor for the spark and stuff i have a msd box

You need the ecu as it helps run the engine and still controles a lot of different variables.
