I'm not sure which way i'll go when i get a car, another ls1, a gt or cobra all the choices will be 99's more than likely. Does the 99 cobra have any advantage over the gt? If i get one I will be adding forced induction, once again does the cobra come with any advantages for adding forced induction, boost, over a gt?

personally, i'd go with an LS1....WS6.that's my dream car though, so i might be a little biased. they just come with ridiculous power, and the WS6 is such an intimidating car.just my $0.02

I traded my 01 WS6 in for an 03 Cobra and havent regretted a minute of it.

jacs, 99+ cobras are amazing, and would give a Ws6 a good run. If your choosing between a cobra and a GT, definately go with the cobra, and if you can afford an 03 cobra, no looking back.

yeah, 03 cobras are so badass, GM people start comparing it with Z06's which it isnt in the same class as at all, it's just the only way they can find a GM car to beat it.

I was following a Z06 last Thurs....he took off (but due to traffic I couldn't get out behind him quick enuff) Story short, he had a 2 car lead on me when I got behind...got to his left quarter panel a quarter mile up but missed 4th. That's the only thing I hate about my 03 Cobra...the gearbox suxs. But then again, I shouldn't of missed 4th to begin with...but I'm sure we'll meet again.

The potential of the cobra over the gt is night and day. You will pay a bit more for the cobra over the GT, but it is worth it. I had a GT prior to the Cobra and I love it. One thing though. If you are thinking of building a 1/4 mile horse then the IRS cobra's may not be for you unless you are considering an axle swap. Wheel hop is a bummer... AzdropTop37936.9431134259

What should GM people compare it to. 4 valve per cylinder could not beat the LS1 so Ford needed to put a supercharger on it. There is no way I would compare the new Cobra motor to either the LS1 or LS6 because with what you guys got on that motor you should be kicking everythings a$$. Live it up while you can though, when the new 3 valve GM's come out your done and GM will do it NA.
