Default Aftermarket hoods with V6 stock bumper?

Unfortunately I've noticed my stock hood has started to get some little paint bubbles around the front edge (some kind of factory defect) and will probably need to be repainted in the near future.

So I'm thinking, if I'm going to have to get a crappy bodyshop paint job on my stock hood anyway, maybe I should just pick up an aftermarket hood and replace my stock hood with that.

Problem is, my car's body is otherwise stock, and I'm not sure how an aftermarket hood will look with our less-aggressive front bumper design.

With an aftermarket (or even GT) bodykit, which are generally lower and more aggressive, basically any aftermarket hood will work with the car. The V6 stock bodykit I'm not so sure about.

Has anyone put an aftermarket hood on their stock-body V6? Are there any hood designs that you think could work with our less aggressive body style?

Roush hoods are generally accepted and a favourite among all Mustang owners. I was thinking of one till I went against it. It's sleek, slender, and narrower than most other hoods. It speaks agressive without being too overbearing.

Some guy in Texas can get you one for $89 and paint for $75. Retail is ~$150. PM me and I'll try and find his info.

Actually I'm in Canada, so I'm going have to just buy a hood and get it painted by someone local. Thanks though!

I've kind of been looking at the Boy Racer hood

or the California Dream hood

(and is that the same as the Cervini's Concept Hood?)

I don't want anything too crazy, and I'm not really a big fan of the cowl or the ram air/scoop hoods, just something that blends in and is still fairly low profile, like the ones I mentioned above. But even with those, I'm not really sure how they would look with the high body lines and rolled edges of our V6 front bumpers.

There was a TSB for bubbling paint on the hoods... get the dealership to paint it for free!

I personally like the Cervini hoods. They will fit the stock bumper and some include a three piece assembly to make the grill and headlights more aggressive.

Wow. I really like those hoods you posted raubt.

Thinking you just changed my mind about the Rouchs (sorry for spelling).

Hope to hear of someone that has it installed.
