The same tail out style of driving wont work in a mustang or Camaro? both of which weigh less and will fit larger tires under them.
it's slightly harder to control, at least i think it is. it's easier to run through a corner in 'Stang or 'Maro than in the Goat, but the Goat can be more fun to drive

Hey if you don't like what I say ask someone else. Do you really think the general public would say the stuff some of these guys do if they seen each car side by side?

My attitude? I was here well before I owned my SS/SC hell I was here before you were. People that are no longer here strted the **** by calling my car a econobox, cavalier, and so on. It was also the same people who started all of the SS/SC are a joke and are slow **** I didn't.
And I really love how one persons opinion is simply that where as my opinion is BS, GM biased or good ole codyss.
Like I said before grow up.............
I think the general public has already spoken, the GTO was dropped due to poor sales. As were other GM vehicles due to the same thing.
I think the Ls1/ls2 engines are fantastic but don't wrap it in a medicore package or "me too" body and tell me its great. GM body designs and their interiors (with 6 feet of dash 3 feet deep) is my problem with them. GTO was no different.
Wrong! GTOs were not dropped due to low sales. They were originally planned to be a limited 3 year production car for the US. They still make them, we just don't get them. And if it was such a bad seller, then why are they bringing us a GX8 which is based on the same platform?
Because those are respectable times for a 300 hp car, not 350 and 400 hp cars.
The IRS has a lot to do with the ****ty launching, too.
And because at 35-40K you would think GM would've made a GTO look like something else other than a Grand-Prix/Grand-am on roids.
The only difference I truely see is an extra pair of doors and a different hood. The rest is just sad.
As opposed to a Tempest, or a LeMans or a Nova on roids like the last ones were? The price was 33,495, and GM had incentives from the get go, mine was 29.5k OUT THE DOOR

Not true, actually the f-cars & mustang are harder to drive. Solid rear. If the rear kicks out, you're pretty much done, not so much in the roo. Have you ever seen Top Gears reviews of this car?
The G8 is based on the Commadore sedan chassis. The same chassis is also shared by the Chevy Lumina being sold in the mideast.
The Zeta Frame. The same thing will be used for the 2009 Camaro. Isn't the Commodore, Vauxhall, and GTO all on this Zeta frame? The GTO and the new G8/Lumina SS all share a very close resemblance, especially from the rear.

the gto was not dropped due to low sales. it was an intentional 3 year low production run

For some reason the Monaro is loved everywhere else in the world but the US.
i've auto x and road raced my old 3rd gen, solid axle. it's easier for me to drive tail out with the goat, now keeping the tail in line on the other hand, the Camaro is better
