so today at work we got an 07 charger srt-8 in on trade. (i work at a dealership). and my buddy who is anti-mustang (dont know why i hang with him lol) was talking all kinds of crap about "oh, you better watch out for that thing" and "you should be scared of those". i told him i dont care about those heavy a$$ whales they call performance cars and i'm not scared to race anyone, winor lose i'll allways try. and he instantly said "well go get your car and i'll race you in the srt-8" so i gladly accepted his offer.
so we go out to the street in front of the store and wait at the light anxiously... then comes the green, i launched at 2500 rpm and pulled a car and a half on him. then about half way through second he was about at my rear bumper. by the top of third his front bumper was at my drivers door and he backed off to slow down for the red light quickly approaching.
after the race he said "damn bro... i guess your not full of s**t after all"
he didn't make excuses for the car or anything, so i guess my only question is; shouldn't i have lost that race?? i mean they do have about 125 more HP than GT's, but they are over 1000 lbs heavier and only available in auto. and my buddy did say it felt like it had crappy gears out back. (dont know how you fell that though)
anyone ever seen astock dyno sheet on one of those things?? i am curious now.

Good run man. They are tough on the top end. I agree with Blue, a little longer and he would of gained ground and taken back what you took from a dig, but at the track the SRT-8 is all yours. Those cars have some kind of tuning/computer deal that can screw them over on take off. I don't think they can disable their TC completley. Something like that anyway.
