View Full Version : $100 no tax no shipping for GT takeoffs including H Pipe
noober 01-07-2008, 12:32 AM Good deal or not? Found a guy willing to give em for $100 cash with mufflers and H-pipe included (GT takeoffs.)
Should I take em? I like the sound of the takeoffs just fine.
jrhykushi 01-07-2008, 01:27 AM errrrr. i say HELLLLL YEAAAA! :D
great find!
howarmat 01-07-2008, 01:39 AM still need the over axle pipes....you will be set then
noober 01-07-2008, 01:54 AM Over Axel Pipes... You mean the ones from the h-pipe to the mufflers?
howarmat 01-07-2008, 01:56 AM yep
noober 01-07-2008, 01:57 AM Think those are included....
So, good deal to you mat? Sorry I couldn't go sponsor - If I got a base base base V6, who's to say I can afford sponsor prices? ^_^ :-P
howarmat 01-07-2008, 02:38 AM yeah, if you can get a h pipe with over axle and muffler you are now replacing everything from the headers back...thats a lot a steel!

Isn't that the same thing as Mid Pipes?
even withouth the midpipe this is a great deal. If you need an H go to muffler shop they can get you one for ~$80.
Dwisforme05 01-07-2008, 08:20 PM damn and i JUST ordered my pypes kit. ill be running the pypes xpipe, midpipes, and gt takeoff mufflers.
noober 01-07-2008, 10:43 PM Then I'll get the whole set (H Pipe, 2 GT mufflers, and the over axle pipes) for $100 and call myself a lucky guy? I just need the final OK from you guys. I'm assuming by the current "That's a deals!" out there, it's already looking great.
Thinking about buying + installing them is already giving me chills. I'm gonna LIKE the sound. I may upgrade later so the set I get now might go on sale later. Hehe.
EDIT: And yes I know to get the hangers. I only need to get one pair, correct? If so, does AmericanMuscle.com have a code for us MFers?
tdaddy 01-08-2008, 12:40 AM Damn you! I thought you were selling them lol

No the overaxle pipes go from the midpipe( x or h pipe) back to the axlebacks.
correct one pair of hangers. And yes you will like the sound.
Hold on, is this an H pipe from a GT? If so you can not bolt it on in place of your stock Y pipe, but you can weld it on. Just need to cut the cats off the H pipe and cut after the cats on your current stock setup, then weld the H pipe behind the stock cats.... No problem for a muffler shop. I along with many others have done it this way. Also remember to keep the cats that are cut off of the H pipe because they are worth money... sell them on ebay or Craigslist.
noober 01-08-2008, 01:54 AM How much we talkin? I'm a craigslist junkie myself. And I planned to keep the stock set incase I didn't like it (I would have to see after the welding if there's a point of no return....) Now I also heard you can clamp the H-pipe but I believe the size difference between headers to pipes is 0.5" is that correct as well?
SonicBlue05GT 01-08-2008, 02:21 AM very good deal.. I've seen the stock H on e-Bay for a pretty penny.
noober 01-08-2008, 02:23 AM Thx, and gratz on your 1000'th post. ^_^
Now I'm wondering if I should do a buy and resell then get something different... UGH.

honestly I'd stick with the GT take-offs.. aftermarket exhaust always sounds a little high-pitched on the V6 to me.
Kailaris 01-08-2008, 08:37 PM Very good deal I say, I just got my GT take off mufflers alone for $89 shipped.
I just bolted on the right one and am loving the way it sounds just with one muffler so I am looking forward to getting the second one on one of these days.
SemperFi789 01-08-2008, 11:01 PM thats a great deal, take it with or without the midpipes
