Hey guys. I am new to the forum. I have an 04 saleen sc281 with 800 miles now. Sometimes when I go from 2nd to 3rd the shifter does not want to go into 3rd. Am I just shifting to hard just to get into 3rd or do I need to shift faster. What is the shift like on these vehicles. I am not grinding gears. Do I need to change my gear setup. Help guys.

I've heard that after market, short-throw shifters help. I have a different tranny than you, but my 2nd to 3rd throw isn't a lot of fun either.

Yea when your on it, 3rd can be kinda funky getting into. I think its just how stangs are (at least New Edge)... i hear short throws help out a lot for that problem

that is just a difficult shift period. i owned a 2005 gt before my saleen and a 2002 gt before that...i put a short throw in my 2005 and it made a huge difference...same story with the 2002. The saleen already has one. so like all these guys are saying...get a short throw. im pretty sure that will solve the problem if not help

+1 on the aftermarket shifter. 2nd to 3rd was not fun with the stock unit, but with my Pro 5.0 it snapd into third.
