I wasable to do this because I had some property that I had sold.

Zero here. Paid off at Christmas. But now I have upgrade fever! Do I supercharge or trade up to a low mileage used GT or stay put. Decisions, decisions.

I say go for more mods. Why have a $300.00 payment on a GT, when you can put $300.00 towards mods every month. Insurance is also cheaper as well. (well, depends).

That is one reason why i am hanging onto the six, well that and a explorer payment.

That's always the big question. LOL! Our cars can take a supercharger pretty good so far. I believe only the people who have ran the track a lot and pushed the psi up have blown their motors. Anyone clarify on this for me? You should be fine withagood safedyno tune and a 11psi or less boost. Just be ready to rebuild the engine a bit earlier than you would have naturally aspirated.

Paid for it out right.

Trying not to brag either, but the main reason my wife and I have a few $'s is because other than a mortgage, we have avoided paying interest over our 27 years of marriage like the plague. We always buy new cars and drive them them forever. The 1990 Acura Integra that the Pony took it's spot in the garage had 337,000 miles on it and still ran fine when we sold it.

started at 24k after tax title and regristration in June 05. I was the first one I knew to get one. now 151xx but I bought it with $0 down because I wasn't looking to buy when I got it but I wrecked a 2000 Monte Carlo. and I haven't been to work since october from medical issues so I haven't been able to make extra payments with any christmas money I coulda earned

Only made 2 payments (well $900 so3payments I guess)so far $15,200, put 7 grand down plus the 1 grand the dealership "put down" with 4.9 financing. $262 is my payment. Only 6 years to go woohoo!!!

I owe about 12 on it, I paid 17 for it (used) because the bank I work at has a partnership with the dealership as far as granting loans, etc. The first rule of buying a used stang is normally don't buy one thats already modded, but I paid 17 grand for an '06 vert in mint condition with magnaflow duals, CAI, GT bumper, pony package, leather, shaker 500, etc. only 12k miles, driven by a rich guys wife that used it to take the kids to school, who ended up trading it in for a Shelby. I couldn't pass that up, plus it was the exact color I wanted. just seemed like fate :) I would have chosen magnaflows on my own anyhow.

And to think, the other dealership wanted $410 a month to LEASE a GT coupe. Test driving the vert was my first time even being in a convertible, right away I knew it was worth it for me to sacrifice the V8 in favor of the vert with a 6banger. The only thing that I really had to "settle" on was that it was an auto. really hard to find a 6 with a stickshift around here, I almost ordered one from the factory, but that would have cost me around 10 thousand more.

What rate did you get? I know Ford was offering 0% rate when I bought mine, but I was paying in full and didn't bother to ask for the details.

That is a good price, but I know there are others on here who have the Pony Package, Sirius Sat., leather seatsand IUP for $19K including myself. At the time Ford was offering a $1000 rebate and I was able to use some other incentives as well.

They wouldn't let you pay cash????? So now you're paying interest on something you needn't have? Sounds like you'd have a case to claim your interest back (assuming you can prove it of course).

As of next saturday I'll owe nothing at all on anything other than the mortgage on my new house - I'm so glad I bought this place right before property prices shot up around here.

I owe ZERO! We traded a 2000 f250 with105,000 miles on itand got the stang for nothing! Its a really lng story but the place we took our truck to the salesman that helped us gave us the stang for our truck, just a trade nothing extra! And a 2005 ford F-250 turbo diesel that idk what my dad paid for it but it was pretty cheap, But our salesman got fired for the deal!

Mustang is 0% for 72 thru Ford, GTO was something like 5.9% thru a local place.

$0.00. Paid cash for it at purchase. The dealership let me drive off the lot in the new car while I went home to get my checkbook. What trusting souls! Saved up for years in order not to have yet another debt hanging over my head. Now, I am reimbursed for vacation time that I don't take at my job. Then, I use the reimbursement to fund modifications once a year.

Interest & finance charges are a sad part of life, if you don't already have one wait until you get a mortgage & work out how much interest you'll pay over 25-40 years:(. On the other hand, being a banker, interest helps pay my salary:).

Aside from the mortgage, there's no point in paying the vig if you don't have to. At least with a mortgage, you usually build more equity than you pay out in interest. Not lately, but, you know, historically.

How much do you still owe?

At the car show yesterday, my friend's husband was talking about how they would finance him for an eight year car payment. I said to him, "Have you lost your mind??? You don't want to be paying on a car for 8 years! Save your money for 3 years and pay for one." I also explained to him that by paying 8 years on a car, you would have tripled what the actualvalue of the car was.

I've said for a while now that I want "It's always f-ing something" on my tombstone because no matter what the situation, what you're dealing with, or what your best-laid plans are, nothing always goes 100% as expected. If I had a PENNY for every time I've said "It's always f-ing something" I swear I'd be at least into the tens of thousands of dollars by now.
