So to all the gang in the v6 section, I had said I wouldn't ever do it for a long time. The deal is too temping though! After talking with the salesmen, gathering info up on about 3-4 used cars nearby in my price range, I have finally found that I can afford a GT both insurance and payments but for USED 2006. This is all fine with me since it's manual and I have been craving the power and feel of shifting on your own without the lag of an auto. I had been doing it alot lately on my v6 auto and I just came to realize why I was doing it (lmao).
Anyhow, so I am trading my mustang in sometime this month for a 2006 manual GT with all the goodies (black leather int, shaker 500, bullit rims, etc). It's in RED Which is my favorite color, but I was looking for black lmao.
I hope I can get some pointers on what intake to get for the GT as well as exhaust since those two are probably my first mods. I have an SCT Xcal2 tuner currently on my v6 which needs to get wiped and swapped for the GT... but which intake goes well with the tune?
I don't need help on the exhaust since I kinda know what I am looking for on a GT. Are there any other pointers you guys 'n gals can give as far as basic performance addons to the GT (without going F/I)?
I hope that this deal can go through soon. I have quotes still pending on 2 others and then I start with the phone calls for more negotiations.
So, thank you all and hope to be on here soon!
---Great way to start out the new year...---

You don't say "Which intake will work well with this tune?", especially when you don't even HAVE a tune.
What you need to do is go and find an intake you like, and then get one of the big mail-order tune guys to hook you up. I personally have the Steeda CAI and xcal 2 running Brenspeed's 93 tune. LOVE it. There are a lot of guys running a lot of different intakes on here, and I'm sure that none is really THAT much better than any other, with the possible exception of the K&N. Doesn't seem to be many good reviews of it. It's all about which one you think looks best, so find it, and then get the tunes done. Brenspeed sells tuner/CAI packages. I'm sure he'll give you a break since you already own the xcal and he can just email the tunes to you.
+1, I have the steeda with the B ama 93 oct. And, hey man, lag in auto's? I used to prefer the manual, but now, I love how my car drives being an auto. But either way, its a good upgrade to the GT. So good luck and spend wisely. (not only on the car payment and insurance)
I have the Stedda CAI and Brendspeed tunes but ALL the CAI's are pretty much the same performance wise. It's the tune that kicks arse.
No doubt you're aware of the search function. Lot's of info there. But it would help to know what your budget is for mods before you get inundated with all of the bank account emptying advice.
I haven't regretted tradin in my 07 sixxer for a 05 GT at all! If your going to get a Mustang let it be a V8. This car will be a classic someday so enjoy the EFF out of it!
