Default 1970 Mustang Gift Car Cover

My boyfriend has a 1970 Mustang. That is being back-halfed and he is putting in a 12 point roll cage. The car is very vulnerable at the moment with all the bare steel able to rust. We live in a very rainy place and the car normally sits in a garage, but the car was in the rain the other day. I decided he needs a waterproof car cover.

So does anyone know where I can get a custom car cover with a 100% waterproof guarantee? Preferrably semi-custom to custom? Price isnt a issue, I realize I'll be spending some cash.

And does anyone have one of these cars where they can measure the length? He would notice if I pulled a tape measure on it.

Thank you!

bout near the middle of the page are some measurments. should help. to get the exact measurements of the car profile, you could take a piece of sting across the top instead of a tape. then measure that.no scratches

ive got the same car butmines cherry red!
ill be glad to help you out. lemme find you a good cover real quick.

EDIT: alright i found you a few options. They offer a few cheap ones on ebay but im not sure how good of a deal your getting and if its that great of quality.
but the best one i found is http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ford-...spagenameZWDVW
and by the title it says mach 1 which is like the upgraded mustang and your boyfriends is just a70 model mustang coupe so it it would have some slack in the back of extra material.

but if you want to buy the best of the best cover made for a 70 coupe i would go with mustangplus.com, they have a really good reputation and if something went wrong with the cover they are good at helping you out. the cover tho is a bit pricey b/c its custom for thecoupe.

this ones a little cheaper but they are also a really good company. i buy from them all the time
http://johnsmustang.com/Parts/details-15743.html
and again its going to be pricey b/c its custom, now if you went with a "universal" fit which will still work it just wont be as tight of a fit that would be a little cheaper and you can find those anywhere. search local stores or ebay.

good luck and hope this helps a bit

I'd never leave a car naked! Leaving it at the bare steel is simply a bad idea imo. I'm originally from eastern Canada and a bare steel car will start to rust noticably within 24 hours. just put some primer on it and sand off when needed.

Also note 2 things about car covers.. 1. None of them are 100% water-proof regardless of what they say. 2. Humidity!! Just because the car is covered does not mean its safe from rusting due to moisture caused from sweating under the cover.

The best thing would be a few cheap cans of primer.. Good luck.

I can't vouch for this specific product, but I do have a regular car cover from this same place and it's really nice. Anyway, California car cover makes an anti-rust car storage bag that sound's like it's exactly what you're after, the only problem is that it's not for outdoor use so you would have to keep it in a garage. It's not just a standard car cover, it's a large bag you basically seal the car in to prevent rust.
