Hey just thought I would put up an exhaust video that I put together for comparison while I was back in town over the break. The black mustang is mine with the Borla, while the yellow mustang with no muffler is mustang forum member JSierzega's car while the blue mustang with the Flowmaster is an old friend of mine that is not on this forum. Hopefully it will serve as a good comparison for you guys as all were taken with the same camera in one continous shot so that should help for comparison, although I must say I don't think the camera served justice for my exhaust as the camera really couldnt pick up most of the deeper notes and also I probably should of let the car warm up a little more to prevent the popping but either way hope you all enjoy.

Oh and just for the heck of it here's a pic that we took of our cars.

Lol, there is only so much I can do. I mean if someone on here lives in the area of Palm Beach County that has an MRT then yea sure I wouldnt mind getting everyone together to do a four way comparison.

Is the Borla the Stinger, or the chambered-style muffler?

Nope, I don't have a stinger, it's the chamber-style one.

I like the Borla, but the FlowMaster sounds a little more like a classic Mustang - a subtle, borrowed note from the Bullitt.
Do others hear the same?

Yea don't get me wrong I think the Flowmaster sounds great, but mainly at lower rpms, and it's not just his as I have heard others and it just seems when the rpms get up there it just starts to sound so shallow and like a tin can, it was one of the reasons I went with the Borla because although its was not the loudest at idle it holds deep and smooth all the way through the rpm band, which although I know it will never sound like a V8, it's closer than anything else I have heard and I love it. But hey after all the mufflers I have seen on both 4.0's and 4.6's everyone has their own opinion on what they like, it's as easy as that.

MRT: http://media.putfile.com/Supercharged-40-Mustang-with-MRT-exhaust

Borla: http://media.putfile.com/2007-07-22-BOMC-Ms-Scarlet

Both are supercharged V6's... with no rev limiter in neutral.

and a few extra:

Corsa: http://media.putfile.com/Ms-Scarlet-Sports-Her-New-Corsa-Mufflers
(same as Borla above with new mufflers)

Pypes: http://media.putfile.com/SOHCman---2006-Mustang-V6-Pypes-True-Duals-X-Pipe-and-Street-Pros
(normally aspirated with stock tune (4000 RPM limiter)

While I love both my bud's cars, the Pypes are still my favorite.

On the highway, the Pypes are also the loudest (interior sound is almost 90dB, external must be 100+), but I have heard those Corsa's from INSIDE my stang while on the highway once... very sweet sounding...

Enjoy the hunt for your favorite.

Ask around the forums, I'm sure there are stangers close to you who'll let you visit and listen in person...

I like the sound of the Borla. It has a much deeper tone than the Flowmaster. The car without a muffler....http://soundmachine.org/dci/forum/images/smiles/icon_vomit.gif...it sounded like an old beat-up truck! http://soundmachine.org/dci/forum/images/smiles/icon_flush.gif

I'd like to see a side by side comparison of the Borla, Flowmaster and a GT Takeoff.

yea...i love how they sound but i've yet to find a clip of them as duals, so i decided to give it a shot, the MRTs are supposed to actually show up here sometime today, wednesday my car is set to go int he shop for paint and isntall of the things in my sig, then depending onthe cost of install for the headers and exhaust work, in getting that done asap, i have a feeling dual aeroturbines will be obnoxiously loud
