i look at the sixxers as little brothers.  i hope some of you are aware that little brothers can be bigger/stronger/whateverererer than their bigger siblings.  i wish ford put more power in the sixxers though, even in the current S197 sixxer that gets outran by the majority of family sedans.

as for the 'mustangs are slow stock' comment,

no

compared to the f bodies, **** yeah they are, but compared to the majority (if not all) of imports that are in the same price range that are marketed as 'sporty sports cars' you can't be serious to say the mustang GT is piss slow, year for year.

some people have had ****ty experiences with their mustang, but my experience with my car has been overall pretty damn good.  so what if its a taurus with a V8, RWD, and a stick? do you mean to say a taurus is a piece of **** car, thus making mustangs look like ****?  who the hell buys a mustang only because 'its comfortable', nevermind wanting a cheap V8 stick shift with pleny of torque for the average joe to play around with on a daily basis?  not everybody buys a mustang to race it.

you get what you pay for, and that is where any mustang shines, GT or V6.

V-6 is for real drivers. Go buy a Jetta if you want gas mileage and a chicks car. Buy a V-8 Mustang if you have no driving ability and need the extra horsepower to compensate and feel like you''''''''re fast.

i dont understand why people have to even think about it that way.  The v6 is the fastest new car for the money PERIOD.  Why would you compare a base model to the next level up OF COURSE ITS GOING TO BE **** IN COMPARISON.  That's like saying why would anyone buy a wrx not an sti...cheap for the performance it has and decent modification potential.  That's as far as it has to go imo.  Why compare a 19k car to a 26k car from the same company.

"why would you buy a gsxr instead of a busa?"

hmmm...

i just dont see how you can say save up for the v8.  Thats like me saying save up for the gt500.  It's one of the best cars for the money, just like the gt is so when you have that price range, its a good car to pick.

Ummmmm.......driving a 65 you should remeber that the original Stangs didn't just come with a 289. In the history of the pony cars there have always been sixxers or fours. Get off the rag you lesser motor haters. There's room for all of us Stang owners.

I would have waited for the V8 then. If you are saying to yourself, i really want a mustang, but all i can afford NOW is a 6, do yourself a favor and wait for the 8. If you are asking yourself That qoustion, you would be second quessing yourself. When i see a thread like this,it makes me think that they are looking for people to make them feel like they made a good decision, when really deep down inside, they wanted an 8. Besides in the beginning, i said it was all my opinion. If you love your v6 mustang, don't second think yourself, and enjoy your car,who cares what we think.

So much hate in this thread, wow. I personally don't think that v6 Mustangs are anything to look down upon. Everyone is gonna hate because you didn't buy the GT but personally I wouldn't give a crap if I were you. If you find a nice '99-'04 v6 for a good price, I say go for it man. If I were you though I would buy a high mileage v8.

There does seem to be a lot of insecurity amoung the 6 crowd......except for those few guys in the SS section that have gone the turbo route

Here we goo. I truly hope you are referring to a Stock GT asshat.  READ MY SIG!!! I would beat a GT500.  Ohhh, they put down 500 Crank HP, have about 450-460 to the wheels,  they weigh hundreds of lbs. more.  I'll stop right here before I say some mean things.  I never said anything bad about a V6.  Stop reading between the lines and trying to stir **** up.

look at it this way....

just think of a v6 like a retard. they try as hard as they can but still fail, but you gotta give me credit for trying.

That's not the point.  While this guy pops out and brings in GT500.  Ok, he wants to throw stones, a GT500 is about 2-3 seconds faster then a V6 and barely 1 second faster then a GT.  I know the feeling of owning 4Cyl. and what not.  I've had my share.

no one one likes them because they are a V6 mustang lol..... but yes dicks that throw on a cold air intake and think they are the king of the street have ruined what little respect there was for the car

bingo. done. nailed it.

so in conlcusion, you can thank all the v6 dicks for ruining the v6 reputation. they are not thought of as "real" mustangs anymore.
