The first Mustangs I ever bought were 65-66 inline 6's.  They were the first cars I learned to work on.  I learned how to drive a manual transmission in the 65.  I guess since I started out working on these I've never had a problem with 6 cyl. Mustangs.  The only V6 Mustang I've had was a 2001 Convertable.  I got it instead of a V8 so I wouldn't spend all my money on modifications.  I eventually sold it because I was tired of making payments and I had a 1992 5.0 coupe.  I've never cared much about the 4.6's except for the DOHC's.  I had a Cobra for a while when I lived in Philadelphia.  It was a lot of fun.  I had an 88 coupe too that had more low end torque.  I liked the coupe better.

I like all the Mustangs ever made, no matter what engine came in it.  If given a choice though, I like the 302 and 351 engines and the fox fody cars.

buying a v6 mustang is like buying a jumbo cheeseburger and telling them to leave out the meat...

the musclecar wars are drawing to a close actually... 2010 or so will be the last year and then we will sink into another era like the 80's IMO... this era has been around ever since the LT1 and the SN95 stang hit the streets

and like what was said before, it is an impossibility to tell other people what they want in a car or what they need and if someone wants a V6 stang they will get one regardless of how long a V8 owners E-peen is

PS. I order cheeseburgers with nothing on it but cheese and the burger cooked medium rare.... I think that would be a better analogy... considering they are still a nice car with all the creature comforts you get in a V8

and here is the biggest kicker

sometimes people do not care about going fast or beating the person next to them... ::GASP!::

if this thread is staying around for anything... it's so I can keep track of the biggest dousches who think their V8 is the best thing since god made little green apples

NEWSFLASH! because you own a V8 it does not mean everyone is entitled to your opinion

thats not quite the average v6...if thats the case then a twin turbo v8 stomps most exotics...as for the muscle car wars...they are just getting started...the camaro and challenger arent even here yet and most people arent pushin their s197 to the limit against the ricers...right now we have the goat, the mustang, and the charger rulin the roost...when the challenger and the camaro are rumblin down the backstreets as commonly as the stang gt and the goat, THEN the wars will begin...sure the day of the v8 is comin to an end...BUT not today, not tomorrow, not this year and not even in this decade

getting caught with a v6 when that fun starts is like bringing a watergun against an uzi

oh and for those that take what i say about a CAR personally, i'm not saying its a bad car...its a decent car, like a cubic zirconia, it is what it is...but my corolla is a decent car too...i'm just saying the v6 MUSTANG is not a racer

there are people on this site with V6 stangs that would make your high 13 second rocketship cry puddles of oil back home

those are the people that wanted a fast sixxer... the people that want a sweet looking daily driver with a little pep could give two squirts of piss about what a V8 can do

at this point all you are doing is dancing in front of an 80 year old saying you can kick his ass... actually race a 4.0L owner that bought his car to go fast and then get back to me

put it this way, the particular member I have in mind... he has a 2003 SVT cobra along with the 4.0L... the cobra is his DD'er

an open mind brings in fresh air... you might want to look at it through someone elses eyes

i just want to make sure i understand something...a bone stock 1994 gt is a 'racer' because it has 8 cylinders, but my 07 v6 isn't, even if im faster than they are?

good point...i shoulda said that...driving a v6 mustang among real sports cars is like an 80 year old climbing in the ring with 20 year old boxers...it just aint right....

thanks for that analogy

yes...but because no matter how much you mod yours, the same type mods on his are gonna make his car faster...actually wasnt 1994 the last 5.0? i think...i'm not sure...anyway...he can reach 600hp with his...i dont think yours can do that...i'm just saying the ceiling will always be higher on a v8...look your s197 v6 is a great car...it really is...it just isnt meant to be a kick ass road warrior...but it is a great looking and peppy car

you aren't good at analogies are you?

from your veiwpoint you think everyone who drives a 4.0L (pulls out big list)

#1 automatically races it
#2 wants to directly compete with V8's
#3 cares about what a V8 can do
#4 cares about anything you say

etc etc etc

"racing" a stockish 4.0L can be a little daunting... but against other cars in it's pricerange and cylinder count it is a very good car for the money, I doubt anyone who buys a sixxer says "I'm going to mod this so I can beat V8 mustangs"

driving a v6 mustang is fine, making one fast is fine, buying one to be quick is fine

the only people who don't see this are V8 owners with their nose up in the air and their heads up their ass... which would make your nose full of lower intestine

lol...some people are trying hard to make this personal but joolander told me to play nice so i'm keeping this about a car...the v6 is a great car for what it is...i think my kid sister is buying one and i wholeheartedly support her decision...i'm gonna suggest my mom buy one too...there...i gave my opinion on it as a daily driver

imo, the musclecars will come to an end...keep in mind, the camaro and the challenger both were released toward the end of days

as far as v6s aren't fast....all i can say is "Powerhouse Turbo" the s197 sixer guys know what i'm talkin about...what i thought about doin when i got mine, but i'm not anymore - happy how it is for drivin the whoppin 10 miles/day that i drive...v6s are roughly 10K less than a GT, turbo is 6K....10.4 second quarter mile.......i think that says enough if you wanna talk racing...if you're "racing" a basically stock car, who cares...that's ricer shiot right there...make a 4 banger civic look like it's got balls, but is just adding weight and flashy paint

95 was the last year, and with more then 450 HP you will have 2 4 cylenders and not one whole v8 when you crack the block down the lifter valley, for somereason when the few who build the v6s DO reach 500, 600, 700, and 800 HP they are using stock blocks and cranks,

having more cubic inches doesnt make your car faster, you need to know how to build it and how to spend your money

scrming, fazm, lilroush, mysteed, SSM, and matt all come to mind when i hear "slow v6" who cares what people build, OMG you have a bolt on s197 GT!? guess what so do about 25,000 other people around the world
