That is the KEY statement to the clones/fakes issue right there. As long as its done for the owners personal tastes and not shown or advertised/sold as the real deal - then all is good
Man, do I agree. I get so tired of some little puke asking me if it's a clone, then telling me it is. It's like everything in life, go big or go home. If you want a Saleen, then buy a Saleen.

Yeah, My husband had his 95 S351 at a muffler shop when he got it a year ago, and the kid said wow nice car, who bulit that? He responded- Uh Steve Saleen! The kid was shocked it ws real. I guess so many clones. I personally dont mind installing the body kits, but the logos, numbers and graphics are too much. Dont call it something it isn't and will never be.
I myself hate to see any kind of FAKE. If you can't afford the real deal, buy an import. I see FAKES on the same level as imports. Useless. Sooner or later the owner will try and sell the FAKE Saleen as a real one. Find some sucker kid and make him pay out the @SS. Just save up for about 20 years or however long it will take you, and buy it.
who cares. If i had a regular gt i would definantly want to add a saleen body kit. But my mach 1 would look out of place w/ a saleen kit. Who cares if there clones.

It's fine to put the body kit. It's fine to put the supercharger. Just when you start to put the Stickers that say S281.... Saleen...... Ect.... That is where the line has been crossed. If you people want a Saleen so much, just friggin get one. It isn't hard. I got mine when I was 20, by myself, no parents involved, nothing. Paying for it myself. Just do it the right way if you want the stickers.

err. but im not sure how a real saleen owner would think about that. Since they spent their hard earned cash for a saleen, while others get the same attention with one for half the price. Then again, If i had 50 grand... It wouldnt be going into a saleen, I would buy a C6. You would get more head turns with that car. And isnt it faster?

Stock form the C6 is much quicker then on 05 SC Saleen but I will argue with you about the attention. Even with the nearly 1500+ units Saleen Inc pumped out this year, its still far less then the production of C6's. You see those vette's everywhere here in SoCal. 99.9% of the time any Saleen will get more attention or turn more heads then the new C6......

they must be everywhre in cali. I live in south florida and Have only seen 1 other that is local. and about 5 of them on the road. There isnt a stoplight that I pull up to without someone yelling nice car waveing or some other nice gesture.

I have no problem with people that build their production Mustangs to look like the Saleen. I just hope that they do the necessary mods to smackdown the usual suspects (Hondas, RS Camaros, and the like) so that those clowns don't go around saying they beat a Saleen. IMO Saleen is the best looking body kit out there IMO, and I can't hate anybody who wants to look good.
