I know of two guys who ran 11.4x and 11.6x with Paxton/Vortech HO kits on stock the clutch.  I saw the runs myself... the 11.4x guy was making 500+ on  race tune.... let say that he's since replaced his clutch...

I know the stock clutch can take a beating, but sometimes the revs seem to go up faster than the mph.  I think a Whipple HO is a little harder on the clutch anyway, since it's supposed to make 400 ft lbs of torque instantly.

That's the one i'm going to get.  620 ft lbs should be plenty for me.

I did a pull in 4th gear this morning.  This time I recorded the mph and I let off when the tach hit 6k.  Made 549hp and hit 119mph.  I think it's safe to say you can record in 3rd or 4th gear and get consistent results.

but you are the only one I can get to do it.  You had your car dynoed right?  I'm curious to see if your hp results with the gauge are close to that of the dyno.  What would you guess your crank hp to be based on your dyno results?

I will know in 10 days, but I can't wait that long.

Well I don't want you to be disappointed.  Remember I have 4.10 gears which will rob some hp, but I might put my 1 piece driveshaft back in which will even things out.  I also have the mid mufflers which I think actually picked up some hp over the gta's, well it sure sounds faster.  I will most likely have my drag radials on which might cost a few hp since they are taller.  I better stop doing dyno runs on the street before my clutch really starts going out, but it sure was fun doing 119 at 4:30 in the morning.

It's suppose to get down in the 30's and even high 20's the next few days, so no WOT for me.  I don't know if these engines will make a lot more hp being that much colder, but I ain't risking it.

That reminds me, I've got to change my oil before the dyno day.  I hope you use mobil 1 cause otherwise your numbers might be off.

What is the difference between the dual setup and the single setup? Is it that you are jsut paying for two instead of one gauge?

with the single gauge, you can monitor 2 functions
at a time....

if you wanted to monitor 4 functions at a time, you would want
2 gauges (aka the dual setup)

LOL!  Are you trying to say I can't do 119 in 4th gear with 4.10 gears?  Do I sense some sarcasm related to the 80mph in 2nd gear post?

It's well worth the money IMO.  Only one wire to connect, the one to the obd2 port.  I bought it mainly because it can read the fuel pressure by using the stock sensor.  That alone makes it worth it if you have a power adder.
